MG Hector Plus: A Family Companion

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the MG Hector Plus and it has been quite a journey. This 6 seater SUV, spacious and comfortable,is the perfect ride for family outings. With a 2.0 liter turbo diesel engine, which pumps out 170hp and a torque of 350Nm it is powerful yet smooth. The around 20 km/l mileage is a blessing for long drives. The Hector Plus, while roomy can feel bulky in narrow city lanes, a common issue in busy Indian streets. Also the voice command feature, though innovative, sometimes struggles to understand Indian accents which can be frustrating.

Sophisticated Upgrade to Elegance

I bought this amazing car last time and it's one of the stylish MG buses I've ever drive and it offers great comfort and it has amazing features like power steering and automatic climatic control andanti-lock slowdown system. It's a 5- seater SUV with automatic transmission and 155L charge space. It comes with a maximum torque 250NM and maximum power 141bhp with machine displacement of 1451 cc. it has 4 cylinders with 12kmpl of avail which is ideally fine.

MG Hector Plus Pros and Cons

Hector Plus Positives Points: Impressive road presence; this large SUV grabs attention on the road. Spacious and comfortable cabin, offering ample room even for six-foot-tall individuals. Abundant features, including powered seats, front seat ventilation, a 14-inch touchscreen, and ADAS – feels like a worthwhile investment.

Hector Plus Negatives Points: Lack of a diesel-automatic option, which might not suit buyers with high running. Petrol engine isn't particularly fuel-efficient, making it less suitable for extensive city driving. Third row space is not great. Very cramped for adults.

Zigwheels Expert's Conclusion : All the strengths of the Hector have been carried over to the Plus version — it’s spacious, comfortable, well-built and loaded with tech. Consider this if you want a large SUV for the family and are okay trading some driving fun for sensibility. It is best described as a 5+2, where the additional row will be used only occasionally by kids or pets.
