My Stylish Hatchback Since buying the Tata Altroz last year it has been a bittersweet relationship. The car definitely stands out with its sleek design and the 5 star Global NCAP safety rating was a major selling point for me ensuring that my family and I feel secure on the road. Fuel efficiency is another area where I wish there could be improvements I get about 17-18 kmpl which is lower than I did like.Despite these issues the Tata Altroz remains a stylish, safe and overall solid choice for anyone looking at premium hatchbacks.

A Stylish Hatchback with Room for Improvement
Driving the Tata Altroz has mostly been a joy. It is stylish, drives well and the cabin feels premium with its well thoughtout layout. However the Altroz is not without its shortcomings. The petrol engine variants feel underpowered when compared to the diesel one making the drive a bit slow. And while the car is pretty well equipped I have found the fuel efficiency around 18-20 kmpl which is a little lower than what I expected. Also the rear seating could have been more comfortable offering better thigh support.

Impressive ride and handling
The gearbox of this hatchback is really light and is a good fuel efficient and got around 18 kmpl of mileage but the engine performance is not good and the power delivery is not very well. The ride and handling is very impressive and is a very stable car with fun to ride quality. In dark version it look really nice and quality inside is great and the seats are good but the headroom is limited. The boot space is good and comes with the great features and the safety is very strong in this hatchback.

Tata Altroz Pros and Cons
Altroz Positives Points: Ample space for four six-footers and their luggage gives you a big car feel, Safety. Proven 5 Star rating at Global NCAP, Choice of petrol/CNG/diesel — lets you pick the basis of your needs.
Altroz Negatives Points: Engine refinement is not particularly great. Hampers the drive experience, Infotainment experience now feels outdated.
Zigwheels Expert's Conclusion : The Altroz scores high on several counts. It has a great design, is spacious, well-built and is proven to be safe. There are no real misses in terms of features, but a richer infotainment experience will make it even better.

Stability And Ride Handling
I have owned an Altroz petrol XZ ( naturally aspirated ) for 2.5 years and 20k km pros very stable and feels planted at high speeds brakes are good steering feedback is amazing car feels well built and has proven in a few minor accidents in city traffic mileage is good, Getting nearly 14 kmpl in city and 19+ on highways with 90-100 kmph speeds. Tata has one of the best suspension setups in this segment. Cons The car feels lacking in power there is slight vibrations due to its 3-cly engine characteristics. However, This problem is said to be rectified with BS6 phase 2 updates and now there are lesser vibrations final verdict under 10 lakh, This car still stays one of the best options available in the market, Performing much better than so-called SUVs (read raised hatchbacks) in terms of overall stability and ride - handling.

I have driven about 18000
I have driven about 18000 kms.Mostly in city. The vehicle is nice to ride especially on highways.Initially before 2000 kms i had a chance to drive on lucknow -agra expressway, I went at the max speed of 80-90km.Altroz gave me reading of 24kmpl and that's the best till now for me.After that the average mileage was 17-18 kmpl as i drive mainly in city (not much traffic). But after the last service, The mileage suddenly went down to 13.5 kmpl (avg of approx 14 kmpl). Also on highways it's 18 kmpl max.(previously on highways was usually 21-22kmpl).Please, Anyone who could give the exact reason for this??thanks for reading.

Try tank to tank mileage check. If your Altroz is petrol please understand that now petrol is blended with 10-20% ethanol for cleaner emissions. However, This ethanol is like spirit. Your are getting 10-20% less pure petrol. This reduces the mileage.
