The bike has been teased, and the extra R gives it some new juicy bits
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR is launching in India soon. The Japanese brand teased the supersport bike on its social media handles, while mentioning it will be a limited-edition motorcycle. It will come to India as a CBU (completely built unit), just like the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R. As for the launch timeline, expect Kawasaki to launch the bike in the coming weeks.
Internationally, the ZX-4RR gets some cosmetic variants, but we are most likely to get it in the KRT Edition paint scheme, as seen in the teaser. With the extra R in the name, this Japanese supersport gets a preload-adjustable 37mm inverted Showa SFF-BP fork, Showa BFRC Lite rear shock, and a bi-directional quickshifter.
Rest of it remains exactly the same as the ZX-4R. That means the 399cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine will make 75PS at 14,500rpm and 37.6Nm at 13,000rpm. Even the kerb weight remains the same at 189kg, and so does the 800mm seat height, 15-litre fuel tank, and 135mm ground clearance.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R is priced at Rs 8,49,000 (ex-showroom, India), and the ZX-4RR should command a premium of about Rs 50,000 over it, considering the few updates it gets. Both these bikes do not have any direct rivals. For a few lakh rupees more you could go for its larger-capacity sibling – the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R – which is again a one of its kind bike in India.
