My cousin recently purchased the Mahindra Thar and took me for a spin. While its rugged style and off-road capabilities impressed me, the fuel efficiency left something to be desired. The manual transmission felt smooth, and the all-wheel drive provided excellent traction on rough terrain. However, in urban settings, its bulky build made parking a challenge. Despite its shortcomings in mileage and city maneuverability, the Thar shines on highways and off-road adventures, making it a great choice for adventurous souls.

Mahindra Thar Pros and Cons
Thar Positives Points: Looks modern with tweaked styling and improved interiors. Drivetrain includes petrol, diesel and automatic options. 4x4 is standard. Washable interiors are a nice touch. New RWD variant drops the entry price.
Thar Negatives Points: Mechanical rear locking differential only on the AX (Adventure) trim.
Zigwheels Expert's Conclusion : The epitome of rough and rugged motoring gets a more pleasing personality while still retaining its admirable off-road abilities. The RWD variants bring lifestyle cred to those who don't like getting their feet wet.
