After much research on the available cars in the 10-15 lakh segment, I bottled down to 3 cars - Duster AWD, Vento 1.2 TSi and the Honda City CVT. The Duster offered a good package, however the downside to this vehicle was the relatively bland cabin design and not many feel good features. Also, the 4WD version is an astounding 300 kgs heavier than its 2WD cousin, which really does put a load on the frugal 110ps 1.5L dCI engine. Vento is the best driver's car in this segment, with its slick dual-clutch gearbox and turbo motor really does leave you smiling. However, the disappointing bit here was the rear seat space and the lack of seat comfort which the Honda boasted of. Hence, the choice was clear, City CVT is was. I took delivery on the 8th Feb from Ace Honda, Noida. I got a good deal, thanks to the great sales person who was looking after the entire transactions. Although, there were some initial hiccups, but overall I was satisfied with the dealership. The measly 175/65 R15 GoodYear Assurance did not have any grip whatsoever and the stiff sidewall made for a extremely bumpy ride on our normal city roads. These had to go and were replaced by Michelin Primacy 3ST, luxury comfort tires. Although they are slightly expensive, they have proven to be great companions in some of the cars ive seen. The Michelin's have significantly reduced road noise and seem to absorb some part of the bad roads as well!
