Produced from 1936 to 1940, The SS 100 'Jaguar' was named so because it could attain the then magical figure of 100 mph (161 kmph). The two-seater sports car featured a 3.5 liter straight six engine which could make the 1150 kg to accelrate from 0-100 kmph in 10.4 seconds. Standard Swallow Cars Ltd. used to attach the intials 'Jaguar' to all its cars after 1936. The company changed its name to Jaguar Cars in 1945 following the use of 'SS' name by the Nazi regime.
