For anyone who has been a fan of comic books and the movies based on them, one superhero that has been a popular favourite is Ironman. And not just for his ‘Billionaire, Playboy and Philanthropist’, attitude but also for the phenomenal collection of exotic cars he owns. To be released on May 1st, Avengers: Age of the Ultron features three cars from Audi’s latest portfolio – the 2016 R8, the 2015 Audi TTS and the Audi A3 Cabriolet.
The 2016 Audi R8 is essentially a Lamborghini Huracan underneath. It uses the same mid-engine platform Modular Sport System platform and will also keep the same engine. The second generation Audi R8 will sport a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 with power of around 600 horses but the German car maker will continue to offer the current V8 that makes about 450 horses. Both these engines will come mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. With regards to looks, the new Audi R8’s wheel base will be marginally longer than the Huracan. On the outside, it will sport the hexagonal family grille which will be flanked by slimmer LED headlights on either side.
Aside from the 2016 Audi R8, the recently launched A3 Cabriolet will also be featured in the movie. The A3 comes with a 40 TFSI 1.8-litre petrol unit that pumps 180PS and 250Nm and comes mated to a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox. Aside from these two, Tony Stark will also be seen using the 2015 Audi TTS in the Avengers: Age of the Ultron.
