2016 Auto Expo: Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Top 5 facts

1.) Engine: Maruti Suzuki will launch the Vitara Brezza only with a diesel engine to begin with. It will sport a DDiS 200 engine that makes 90PS of power and 200Nm of torque from a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder powerplant. This unit will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This unit has already proved its mettle in a lot of Maruti Suzuki cars like that Ertiga, S-Cross and the Ciaz. Like the Ertiga and the Ciaz, the Manesar-based car maker is also expected to bring the Vitara Brezza with the new SHVS system.

2.) Features: Expect the top-of-the-line Vitara Brezza to have a long list of features. With most car makers starting to give utmost priority to safety, Maruti Suzuki too will fit the Vitara Brezza with ABS and airbags as standard. Other features include projector headlamps, Daytime Running Lights, automatic headlamps, scuff plates up front, and contrast colour roof and ORVMs. Like the S-Cross and the Baleno, the Vitara Brezza too will come with a touchscreen infotainment system that features Apple carplay, reverse camera, button start, keyless entry and more. 

3.) Competition: With the Vitara Brezza, Maruti Suzuki enters unexplored waters. In a bid to tap into the compact SUV segment, the Maruti Suzuki offering will go against the likes of the Mahindra TUV300 and the Ford EcoSport. However, keeping in mind Maruti’s widely spread dealer and service network and the kind of trust buyers have in the brand, expect the Vitara Brezza to give its competition some sleepless nights.

4.) Price: Over the years Maruti Suzuki has developed the knack of getting the pricing of its products spot on. The Vitara Brezza has the makings of a promising product and to compliment it, Maruti Suzuki will price is competitively. We expect the Maruti Suzuki to undercut the Mahindra TUV300 as well as the Ford EcoSport and launch it at a starting price of around Rs 6 lakh. 

5.) Expected Launch: The Vitara Brezza is expected to be launched towards the end of the first quarter of 2016. The Vitara Brezza will be sold at regular Maruti Suzuki dealership and not the premium Nexa dealerships. This move will be made in light of the widespread network and the popularity of the product.
