Honda has given a glimpse of the production-ready version of its forthcoming new car – the Honda NSX ahead of its world debut at the Detroit motor show in January next year. The Japanese carmaker claims that this new car will offer a ‘new sports experience’ when it goes on sale globally next year.

Shadowy teaser images released by the automaker confirm the real-world model isn’t expected to stray far from the 2013 concept car, which featured an aggressive front grille, sleek LED headlamps and sharp lines.

Mechanically, the new Honda NSX is expected to be equipped with a twin-turbocharged V6 engine working in conjunction with three electric motors. The petrol engine will send power to the rear wheels, while the electric motors will deliver power to the front wheels.

Commenting on the NSX, Ted Klaus, Chief Engineer and Global Project Leader, Honda NSX development, said, “After three years of intensive development work we are excited to reveal this next-generation supercar — the Acura NSX — to the world. We’ve developed a human-centered supercar that responds to the will of the driver and that builds upon the NSX heritage.”

The new Honda NSX will debut at the 2015 Detroit Motor show on January 12. Once launched, the new NSX will compete against the likes of the Ferrari 458 and Audi R8.
