Olivea tour and travel services to start operations in North India

For a maximum price of Rs.1500 per person for a one-side trip from Delhi to Chandigarh or Agra, the DC designed Volvo buses from Olivea would be the safest and the most comfortable travel by road.

After making their mark in South India, The Blue Hill Group, promoted by the Directors of Nilgiris, a renowned supermarket chain since 1905, announced the launch of the North India operations of their uber luxury coach services, Olivea. For the first time in North India, a complete travel solution with recliners which can tilt to 165 degrees for a flat bed comfort, an individual LCD with every seat. These DC designed Volvo buses also have reading lamps, Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS tracking and for the first time in India, on-board DTH service and washroom for all passengers.

“Olivea today provides experience in the lines of a Premium Legacy air carrier. It already boasts of a 70 % load factor in most of sectors since its inception and with expansion of one route per fortnight we would be one of Asia’s largest Road Travel Premium network system by 2012,” said Koustav M Dhar, CEO and Executive Director, Blue Hill Group.

The services will commence on the first of November this year with four buses, two on Delhi to Agra and two on Delhi to Chandigarh currently in North India later on expanding to Jaipur, Dehradun, Shimla and Vrindavan by end of the year. Later on the service would also extend to Ajmer and Amritsar.

“All customer who wish to travel can log on to www.olivea.in and book their tickets online. We would also have a LLC system where customers can buy their tickets in advance for a lesser price just as an airline has,” added Koustav.

The operation would be a Non-stop format with high-on-safety factor as their priority and the 24/7 coach operations with trained pursers serving food on board. Olivea in South of India operates eight vehicles on the Bangalore-Chennai-Mysore-Tirupati route and would be adding eight buses every month for the next 24 months for hub operations across South, West, North and East India.

The company has already invested Rs.50 crore for 25 coaches and plans to acquire 100 coaches by 2013. “We plan to invest Rs. 250 crore in the next three to four years for acquiring more such buses,” said Prabhu Ramachandran, Managing Director, Blue Hill Group.
