Royal Enfield Classic 500 new Tan colour

Apart from changing its brand logo, crest and monogram, which hasn’t gone down well with Royal Enfield purists, the bikemaker had another surprise up its sleeve. The iconic two-wheeler manufacturer has introduced new colour options on its highly popular cruiser offerings, the Royal Enfield Classic 350/500 and the Thunderbird 350/500.

The Classic 350 will be now available in new shades of ‘Lagoon” which translates to blue, “Ash” which is white apart from the standard shades. Royal Enfield has discontinued the sea green and maroon colour options for the Classic 350. The elder sibling, Classic 500 gets a tan colour shade with a maroon running across the front and rear mudguard. The bike will also get the same black and silver shade as seen on the Classic 350 but with additional stripes.

The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350/500 will be now available in two new shades of Lightning (brown) and Marine (blue). The matte black shade has been discontinued, while the gloss black colour option is still available. Apart from sporting new colour and logo, the entire range of bikes except the Continental GT will sport new model specific crest. Also Read: Royal Enfield reveals new logo

All the changes made on the bikes are only cosmetic and no improvements have been made on the mechanical front. The Classic 500 and the Thunderbird 500 is powered by a 499cc, single-cylinder producing 27.5PS of power and torque rating of 41.3Nm. Whereas the Thunderbird 350 and the Classic 350 employs a 346cc, air-cooled motor churning out 20PS and 28Nm of torque. The new colour has definitely enhanced the visual appeal of the Royal Enfield offerings. Having said that, there has been no dearth in demand as Royal Enfield registered an 85 per cent growth with sale of 64,268 units in the first half of 2014.
