Prior to its global debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, Suzuki Motor Corporation has revealed an all-new compact SUV christened Vitara. This compact SUV will be based on the same platform as the iV-4 concept that was first unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013.
While Suzuki hasn’t delved into the specifics of the car as yet, we got a glimpse of it thanks to the official photo released by the Japanese car maker. At the front, it sports a large twin-slat grille that is flanked by the double-barrel headlamps. The bumpers house vertical Daytime Running Lights and round fog lamps. The blackened out pillar give it a rugged look.
The Vitara will get an optional ALLGRIP intelligent all-wheel drive system. It will be made available in both petrol as well as diesel variants. Set to go on sale in the European market by spring nest year, the Vitara will go up against the likes of the Honda Vezel, Nissan Qashqai and the Dacia Duster.
Interestingly, along with the iV-4, the Vitara also shares the same platform with the XA Alpha that debuted at the 2014 Auto Expo earlier this year. However, there is no official confirmation about the new Suzuki Vitara coming to India just as yet.
