2015 Porsche Cayenne launched in India at Rs 1.02 Crore

Porsche India has launched the facelifted 2015 Porsche Cayenne at a starting price of Rs 1.02 Crore (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). The new Cayenne is available in four variants including two diesels, a standard petrol Cayenne S and the top of the line Cayenne Turbo. Porsche will also eventually launch other variants like the Cayenne GTS and the top of the flagship Cayenne Turbo S.

On the outside, the new Cayenne comes with a larger grille and a redesigned bumper that gives it an even more aggressive stance. The increased number of blades in the air ducts will improve cooling. The new bonnet with the sharper lines gels well with the new grille. Bi-xenon headlights with four-point LED Daytime running lamps will be offered as standard in the Diesel, S and S- E-Hybrid variants but the Turbo Model gets LED Headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS).

The 3.0-litre V6 engine in the Cayenne diesel produces 245PS of peak power and 550Nm of peak torque. The Cayenne diesel can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 7.6 and has a top speed of 218kmph. The 4.2-litre V8 engine of the Cayenne S Diesel produces 385PS at 3750rpm and a torque of 850Nm from 2000-2750rpm. From a standstill, it reaches 100 kmph in only 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 252 kmph.

The Cayenne S on the other hand gets the all new 3.6-litre V6 twin-turbo engine that makes 420PS of peak power and 550Nm of peak torque. The Cayenne S can go from 0-100kmph in just 5.5 seconds on to a top speed of 259kmph. The top of the line Cayenne Turbo gets a 4.8-litre bi-turbo V8 engine that produces 520PS of peak power and 750Nm of torque. This lets the SUV accelerate from 0-100 kmph in a mere 4.5 seconds on to a top speed is 279 kmph.
