Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet launched in India

Mercedes-Benz has launched the new E-Class Cabriolet in India at Rs 78.5 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The E-Class Cabriolet is offered in E400 trim that gets the 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine under its hood. The engine dishes out 338PS of power and 480Nm of torque.

Mercedes says that the two door soft top convertible can do the 0-100kmph sprint in just 5.3 seconds and has a limited top speed of 250kmph. The E-Class also gets the popular 7-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. The E Cabriolet gets a fabric roof that can be opened or closed in 20 seconds at speeds below 40kmph.

The E-Class Cabriolet gets a pronounced single slat grille and a muscular bumper. The wide and low set front stance leads into the lengthy beltline, gently rising up to the rear end. While the headlamp cluster is one unit now, it is designed to resemble the double barrel design of the preview E-Class Cabrio.

The interior gets an upgrade too. The front seats are redesigned and get more levels of adjustment now than before. The E-Class Cabriolet is a fairly long car considering the E-Class is the donor car. That means there is enough space for adults to fit into the rear passenger seats, which come with electrically adjustable head restraints.

The features are similar to the CLS-Class which was also launched today. A 7-inch infotainment screen, 14-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system, satellite navigation, parking package which includes a 360 degree camera and Active Parking assistance is all part of the package. Safety systems are similar too except for one extra airbag,
