The Vintage and Classic Car Club of India or VCCCI as it is commonly known will hold its annual vintage and classic car and bike rally on February 1, 2015 in Mumbai. This rally, held every year for several decades now is one of the premier classic motoring events in the country apart from being one of the largest.
Several noteworthy cars and bikes totalling to over a hundred and fifty in number will make an appearance at the Horniman Circle in south Mumbai and will make their way through a pre determined route before ending the rally back at the start venue.
The rally will include a selection of several Edwardian, pre-war vintage and classic cars with a selection of modern classics thrown in for good measure. Some noteworthy marques will include several Rolls-Royces, Bentleys, Cadillacs and Mercedes-Benz automobiles taking part. From luxury limousines to small two seater sports cars to luxury tourers to your run of the mill ‘people’s cars’, there will be something for everyone as Mumbai gets transported back to an era of chrome bumpers, white wall tyres and semaphore indicators.
There will also be a wide collection of bikes taking part in the rally, from the ever present marques like BSA, Norton and Royal Enfield to rarer bikes like NSUs, BMWs and Harley Davidsons. Also expect a few participants to dress in period correct attire to go with their respective classic and vintage vehicle.
