About Nissan Micra
The Micra is Nissan’s entry-level offering in India. With a starting price of Rs 5.95 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi), it competes against various other hatchbacks including the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Baleno apart from popular hatchbacks such as the Tata Tiago and the Hyundai Grand i10. The Micra is offered with a choice of two engines - a 1.2-litre petrol or a 1.5-litre diesel. Although the diesel engine is fairly powerful, the Micra is getting a bit long in the tooth, especially when you consider most of its major rivals are either brand new or have received significant updates in the last couple of years.
Nissan Micra Overview
Nissan has updated its Micra hatchback just in time for the festive season. Updates aren’t drastic, and are limited to a few feature additions here and there. Dual airbags are now offered as standard across the range. Other updates include the addition of turn indicators on the wing mirrors, a 6.2-inch touchscreen, rear parking sensors and a reversing camera. Expectedly, engine options remain unchanged - there’s a 1.2-litre petrol (77PS/104Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel (68PS / 160Nm) to choose from. The petrol is offered solely with a CVT, whereas the diesel is available with a 5-speed manual only.
