Ford has revealed to the world its all-new SUV – the 2015 Ford Endeavour, also known as the 2015 Ford Everest in the international market. This new seven-seater SUV will be offered in countries such as India, China, Australia, New Zealand, Sub-Saharan Africa and South Africa.
The 2015 Ford Endeavour exudes a premium look both inside out. This new SUV receives a large chrome hexagonal front grille, new LED daytime running lights and an aluminum front and rear underbody protection. Ford claims a ground clearance of 225mm and water-wading capability of 800mm. The approach angle is 29-degree and the departure angle is 25-degree.
Enhancing ease of the SUV’s off-road operation is the terrain management system (TMS), which allows drivers to select between four pre-programmed settings while driving: normal, snow/gravel/grass, sand and rock. It changes the vehicle’s throttle and transmission response and adjusts the traction control accordingly to the terrain.
The cabin is spacious and boasts of more than 30 stowage spaces and by folding the second and third rows one gets a cargo capacity of 2,010 litres. The car also comes equipped with the SYNC2 infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen display, two USB ports, 240-volt socket for the second row, 12-volt outlets in the front and second rows and trunk.
The 2015 Ford Endeavour gets an array of safety features which include the hill start assist, hill ascent and descent and curve control, lane departure warning, lane keeping aid, blind spot information system with cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, roll stability control and ESP.
The SUV will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. For the petrol, it will get the 2.0-litre twin-scroll EcoBoost engine. The diesel engine options include a 2.2-litre four-cylinder and a 3.2-litre five-cylinder engine.
Ford has confirmed that its new 2015 Ford Endeavour will be manufactured in Thailand for the ASEAN market. We expect this new SUV to hit the Indian shores by mid-2015 with India specific engine range.
