MotorOctane has reported that the petrol version of the popular Maruti Vitara Brezza will be launched in India by May 2017. It also further states two engine options such as new 1 Litre Boosterjet engine, which is likely to come in Baleno RS this year. This engine will make the Vitara Brezza to compete with the 1 Litre Ecoboost Ford Ecosport as well as the upcoming Hyundai's Sub 4m SUV with a 1 litre turbocharged engine. Another engine is the new 1.5 litre four cylinder engine, currently in its final stages of development. So, now Maruti has two engine options to choose from and I hope it makes the right choice so that it may further help in pricing the petrol Vitara Brezza more competitively.

The waiting period of the Maruti Vitara Brezza has increased considerably because of its popularity. You can now have a baby before getting delivery of a Vitara Brezza. According to a report in AutoCar India, the waiting period for the ZDI and ZDI+ variants of the Brezza is now NINE months! The LDI, LDI(o), VDI and VDI(o) variants have a waiting period of seven months, which means you can only get delivery in December or January. Maruti has received more than 70,000 bookings for the Brezza and is unable to cope with the production. Currently, the company can produce up to 8,500 Brezzas a month, but that is not enough to meet the demand.
