It may not do proper hardcore off-roading, but I think it will be a fun car to drive up the hills. It has got the dynamics of a car which is good for highways and also the added advantage of AWD for the hills :D Who knows, it may as well come to India, considering the diesel ban keeping so many car manufacturers out. It could be a good opportunity for Suzuki to experiment, don't you think?
Yes, considering Suzuki is at least 400 cc under the radar! But jokes aside, the S-Cross is actually the SX4 Cross which was built as an all-wheel drive crossover, primarily for the European markets. All-wheel drive does well in wet and snowy conditions, a much needed feature for some European countries. In India, people don't really understand the need for all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. How else do you justify the number of 4x2 variants of SUVs that sell in India. The mighty Toyota Fortuner too, which first came with only a 4x4 variant, saw its sales jump after it introduced a 4x2 and automatic variants. Similarly, Scorpio and Safari sell mainly in 4x2 guise. Hardly 5% of sales is of the 4x4 model! Duster launched with only the 4x2, and only introduced the all-wheel drive after two years. Still sales of the AWD are less than 10% of its total sales.

Yes, that true . The biggest thing going against the S-Cross is it's estate car-like looks. At that price bracket, people prefer a butch looking SUV like the Creta or the BR-V. But the S-Cross is way better accomplished that either of it's competition and that's what bothers me.
