Cardekho has claimed confirmation from Chevrolet that the Enjoy model is indeed being discontinued in India. Chevrolet is devoid of any model to target the MPV segment now. The MPV segment in India is dominated by certain models like the Toyota Innova Crysta and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. On the other hand, the Chevrolet Enjoy, Honda Mobilio and Renault Lodgy hasn't being able to set the sales charts on fire.

General Motors in India whose sales figures have not been very encouraging in the recent times, is gearing up for a comprehensive product rejig. The company had recently revealed the axing of the Spin MPV that was supposed to launch in India this year and was displayed at the Indian Auto Expo. In a totally unexpected move, Economic Times reports that the American car maker is planning to discontinue the Enjoy MPV, and there is no prospective replacement for the same in the future. The Enjoy is a re-badged Chinese Wuling HongGuang was launched in India in 2013 and received a face-lift in 2015. It is manufactured at GM’s Halol plant in Gujarat. The company has reportedly produced about 3,900 units of the vehicle to dispatch in the coming month and the production will be discontinued this month, reported ET Auto. In a market where MPV doesn’t necessarily see a huge demand (except Toyota Innova), Enjoy’s plain exterior design and dated interiors see its sales volumes drop soon after its launch. Restructuring its operation in India, GM is reported to be planning to shut its Halol plant, and is up for sale. Earlier the date was proposed to be August this year, now is reported to be postponed to March 2017. General Motors is witnessing poor sales volumes in India, and is focusing more on exports to increase their revenues.
