Once the dealer came to know, sales call kept coming from all the dealers in Bangalore. Typical sales talks!! Then we approached a dealer called Himavasini Hyundai - Hosur (Tamilnadu), Though they are not mass sellers like our Bangalore corporate-style dealers, Himavasini team's hospitality, service and on-time delivery was exemplary. The CEO/MD of the showroom personally tracked and ensured everything was smooth and on time. I would recommend them, if you have plans of buying a new car (Hyundai)... Even service is quite good (My friends have been going to them for quite sometime).

Yes... Folks! I have taken delivery of the Creta yesterday. I got the petrol automatic version Himavasini Hyundai in Hosur, Tamilnadu. That's the town close to Bangalore. The whole purchase was smooth and on time as promised unlike big city corporate sales talks!! The MD of the showroom personally ensured things were proper from end to end and we are happy with the whole experience. If anyone around this area is planning to buy a Hyundai, I highly recommend you to go to this dealer. You can refer me as well. Thanks again!!

If you are getting a 4th year warranty for 10K, I think you should take it, as it is worth it for peace of mind. Yes, most companies usually charge more for the extended warranty after the 2nd year or 3rd year. What's the waiting period for the Creta and which dealer are you getting it through?

Another question: I am finalizing the booking.. The dealer quoting for 4th year ext. warranty. (3 yrs unlimited as of now). Is it really required ? it costs 10k now. I was told it may be more at a later stage. your inputs please..

[/QUOTE] Nope, cruise control cannot be added to the existing car at a later date. Either you buy one with it or do without it! :) Like Roshun says, the Duster AMT would be a good option.

We currently have the manual AWD version of the Duster with us, and it also comes with cruise control. Take a test drive of the Duster and see how you like it.

Since your usage is not more than 500 km per month, there would really be no benefit in buying a diesel SUV. I would suggest going for the Hyundai Creta 1.6 SX Petrol. It will suit your purposes for city use and occasional highway use. Personally, I find cruise control to be a very useful feature on highways. I use it extensively on my Scorpio when on long trips, to keep a steady speed and also it makes the drive more relaxed, while improving fuel efficiency. But if you are not used to cruise control, it is not really a deal breaker. As for the diesel ban - it is only likely to get worse after this, as the government is planning to crack down hard on diesel cars. Registration may be done only for 10 years henceforth, while petrol cars still get a 15 year registration. Since your running is not much, I think you should stick with a petrol SUV for now.

Having said that, I feel cruise control is one of the most essential features if you're on the highway frequently. It's something that I'm addicted to. It makes for immensely comfortable driving on the highway [[I]That is however if you're not the 'how dare you overtake me, I'll show you' types ;)[/I] ]. So my suggestion is if you have the mentality and the option, [I]choose cruise[/I] :D Reverse camera is something you can easily get fitted. At least in the XUV, the infotainment software is ready to receive a camera even if it doesn't come fitted. That makes the rev. cam pretty much plug and play. Between the two variants you're looking at the Creta makes more sense, unless you have the specific need for a 7 seater. Feature wise these two are more or less even-stevens, the Creta handling is better than the XUV and it's price is about a lac and a half less. Plus considering your running, a petrol should suit you just fine, you don't need a diesel. The XUV is a lot more spacious, can seat 7/ has a huge boot as a 5 seater. And of course, it has cruise control, which the Creta [I]surprisingly[/I] doesn't.[/SIZE]

My questions / requirements: 1) Cruise control and reverse camera are some of the features not available in the Hyundai Creta. Cruise control - will this be a major issue on long drives? 2) There are NGT (green tribunal) bans going around for vehicles above 2.2 litre diesel (like XUV500). Will there be any issue later? 3) Ride comfort and resale values Thanks
