Mercedes has officially launched the Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 at an ex-showroom price of Rs 77.5 lakhs. First showcased at the Detroit Motor Show at the start of the year. This new roadster replaces the ageing SLK 55 AMG globally. Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 is the first product being introduced with a new AMG two-digit nomenclature-43. Born in 1996, the SLK-nameplate accrued 6.7 lakh sales through its lifetime. As part of the new naming nomenclature, the SLK has been renamed as the Mercedes SLC. Along with the new name, Mercedes has also face-lifted the exterior extensively. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n14935[/ATTACH] Powering the new AMG SLC 43 is a 3.0 litre bi-turbo V6 motor that produces 367 bhp and 520 Nm. This motor is mated to Mercedes 9G-TRONIC transmission with steering mounted paddles, enough to propel the vehicle from 0-100 km/h in a mere 4.7 seconds and attain a top speed of 250 km/h. The foldable rooftop can be operated at speeds of upto 40 km/h. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n14909[/ATTACH] The AMG SLC 43 looks similar to the SLK, gets a new front grille with trademark Mercedes diamond pattern, chrome slats and dominated by the three pointed star in the centre. The dual beam headlamps with LED DRLs looks stylish. The rear gets swept-back boot with brake lamp integrated into the spoiler lip. Redesigned tail-lamps, AMG sports exhaust system with two chrome-plated tailpipes are other notable changes. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n14910[/ATTACH] SLC-43 is a strict two-seat convertible. Interiors are typical Mercedes with Nappa leather seats, Designo seat-belts in red, rotary aircraft styled ac vents, flat-bottomed steering wheel. Feature list include blind spot assist, active brake assist, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity and Garmin map pilot navigation included in the kitty. SLC-43 also gets 5 different driving modes, AMG Sports Suspension and Braking System. SLC 43 gets those stylish multi-spoke 18 inch wheels, wrapped around with 235 section rubber at the front and 255 at the rear.
