404 Views Add Comment9 CommentsRoshun | 8 years agoWhile some manufacturers are busy hiking prices on their cars this month, Ford India has gone and slashed prices quite a bit on the Ford Figo Aspire and Ford Figo. The revised prices ex-showroom Delhi are below: The Ford Figo Aspire Titanium Plus diesel earlier used to cost Rs. 8.55 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. Prices have been cut by about Rs. 66,000 on it. The price cut on the Titanium diesel is even steeper down from Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 7.08 lakh - a cut of Rs. 92,000. And on the Trend diesel there's a cut of about Rs. 26,000. Base model prices have not changed. Among the petrol variants too, the Titanium Plus is cheaper by nearly Rs. 65,000. Prices on the Titanium Plus diesel variant have been slashed by about Rs. 51,000. The Plus variants come with six airbags, and ABS.
Nikil | 8 years agoVolkswagen and Skoda The German carmaker recently launched the Ameo compact sedan which is based on the Polo. With an aggressive price tag starting at Rs 5.24 lakh, the Ameo’s sole aim is to end Maruti Suzuki’s domination of the compact sedan segment. While there are no offers on the Ameo for the month of August, take a look at some of the schemes for other VW cars. Nikil | 8 years agoTata Motors Homegrown carmaker Tata motors has been working really hard to change its brand perception over the last couple of months. The Tiago is a right step in that direction. We recently got our hands on both the petrol and diesel variant of the Tiago and were left impressed with it. Instead, Tata has wokrd hard to improve the Nano and it shows. Starting at Rs 2.1 lakh, the Nano is a good option for those looking to upgrade from a two-wheeler to four wheels. For August, Tata is offering a cash discount of Rs 10,000 along with a whopping exchange bonus of up to Rs 50,000. Tiago: No offers on the brilliant Tiago yet. If your are in the market for an affordable and practical hatchback though, I highly suggest you take a look at it. Bolt: The Bolt replaced the ageing Indica Vista. Available with both petrol and diesel powertrains, the Bolt is huge step forward from the Indica Vista. However, it has been struggling for the last couple of months. Nikil | 8 years agoRenault Kwid: The Kwid impressed us with itsSUV-like looks and it seems the whole country has become smitten by it. The Kwid recenlty breached the 1,50,000 booking mark and the little hatchback that also underpins the Datsun Redi-GO has been flying out of showrrom floors. Recently, Renault announced that it has bumped up the production capacity for this little wonder to keep up with the demand. Renault is not offering any discounts on the Kwid. Still, if you are looking at joining the Renault bandwagon by buying one, check out our review here before you make a decision. Pulse: The Pulse is a rebadged Micra with a higher price tag. It has failed miserably in the market and it is quite surprising that Renault still sells it. The Pule is now being offered with free insurance for the 1st year along with an exchange bonus of up to Rs 15,000. Scala: A rebadged Sunny with a higher price tag, this model too has failed to sell in huge numbers. Renault is offering free insurance for the 1st year. Lodgy (85PS Rxl variant): The Lodgy is a seven-seater MUV from Renault that is based on the Duster. Nikil | 8 years agoNissan and Datsun Datsun Redi-GO: Datsun is Nissan’s budget car brand. The Redi-GO is currently the most affordable offering from Datsun. With prices starting at Rs 3.5 lakh, the Redi-GO’s pricing even undercuts the Kwid and the segment leader Alto 800. You can read the full review of this cheap and cheerful hatchback here. Unfortunately, since it is a new hatchback, Datsun is not offering any discounts or schemes on the Redi-GO. Datsun GO, GO+: The Datsun GO was the Japanese car makers first offering in India. It was followed by the launch of the seven-seater GO+ a year later. With prices starting at Rs 3.82 lakh, the GO+ is the cheapest seven-seater you can buy in the country. The GO and GO+ are currently being offered with free insurance for the 1st year. Datsun recently launched a special edition variant of the GO+ called the GO+ style. Micra CVT: The automatic version of the Micra is the most affordable car you can buy with a CVT gearbox. The Micra is already a great handler and with the addition of the CVT ‘box, the Micra is undoubtedly one of the best city runabouts you can buy. However, the steep pricing means not many have been sold in the country. Two months back, Nissan slashed the prices of the Micra CVT by Rs 50,000. Starting at Rs 5.99 lakh for the XL variant, the Micra is still not a cheap car to buy. But if you have the extra dough and are looking for a good city car, then look no further. To sweeten the deal, Nissan is also offering free insurance for the 1st year along with an exchange bonus of Rs 10,000. Micra diesel: The Micra diesel uses the same 1.5-litre dCi engine as the Renault Duster albeit with a lower tune. It is one of the most frugal hatchbacks in the country that can also deliver in terms of performance. With prices starting at Rs 5.75 lakh and going all the way up to Rs 7.48 lakh, there are better, more spacious alternatives like the Ford Figo and the Maruti Suzuki Swift in the market. Nissan has been finding it really hard to sell this impressive little hatchback and is offering free insurance for the 1st year along with a cash discount of Rs 10,000. Sunny: The Sunny is one of the most spacious sedans in its class. However, the poor positioning has always seen it falter in the sales chart. Nissan is now offering free insurance for the 1st year along with an exchange bonus of Rs 35,000. Terrano 110PS: The more powerful variant of the Terrano has been a slow seller since the time of launch because of presence of the Renault Duster that is cheaper to buy. The Terrano was more luxurious than the earlier version of the Duster, but with the latter getting an update recently, this gap has lessened by a huge margin making the Terrano look a lot overpriced. Nissan now offers free insurance for the 1st year along with an exchange bonus of up to Rs 45,000.
Nikil | 8 years agoHyundai Eon, i10: The Hyundai Eon and i10 are Hyundai’s smallest hatchbacks on sale in India. While the Eon is the entry-level hatchback that competes with the Renault Kwid, Datsun Redi-Go and Alto 800, the i10 competes with Maruti Suzuki’s best-selling cars like the Alto K10 and the Wagon R. For this month, the Korean car manufacturer is offering both the hatchbacks with free insurance for the 1st year along with free warranty for the 3rd year. You can also avail a cash discount of Rs 7,500 along with an exchange bonus of Rs 20,000. Grand i10: The Grand i10, according to me, is one of the best products from Hyundai on sale currently. Prices starting from Rs 4.91 lakh for the base petrol variant and goes all the way up to Rs 6.99 lakh for the top-end diesel variant. For this money, you do get a whole load of equipment as standard which makes the Grand i10 good value for money. Hyundai is offering free 1st year insurance along with 3rd year extended warranty. A cash discount of Rs 7,500 along with an exchange bonus of Rs 35,000 makes the Grand i10 a tempting choice. Xcent: The compact sedan version of the Grand i10, the Xcent is one of the biggest threats to Maruti Suzuki’s dominance in the compact sedan segment. Available with both petrol and diesel powertrains, the Xcent is a spacious and comfortable sedan for those lokking for something other than the Swift DZire. A cash back scheme os Rs 15,000 along with an exchange bonus of Rs 25,000 for the petrol variant should surely help Hyundai come close to beating the DZire at its own game. An addition axchange bonus of Rs 5,000 too is available on the diesel variant. But I suggest you stay away from the diesel variant considering the uncertainty over the future of diesel cars in most parts of the country. Elite i20: The premium hatchback form Hyundai was once a very popular car. But with the launch of the Baleno, the Elite i20’s sales has been dwindling. Hyundai, however, seems to be unfazed by the competition as is evident from the lack of any discounts on the petrol variant. However, the Korean car manufacturer is offering a Rs 10,000 exchange bonus if you decide to buy the diesel variant. Verna 4S: Like the Elite i20, the Verna was the car of choice for someone looking for a practical sedan. But all that changed with the launch of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the new Honda City. The Verna 4S is not a great handler, but the punchy motor makes city driving a breeze. If you are looking for a comfortable sedan to be chauffered around town in, then the Verna makes sense. But if you are an enthusiast, it is better to stay away from the Verna and buy the City instead. The Verna 4S now comes with a cash discount of Rs 20,000 along with an exchange bonus of Rs 50,000. No offers on the popular Creta or the Santa Fe for this month. For our review of the Creta, click here. Nikil | 8 years agoMaruti Suzuki Undoubtedly the biggest and most trusted carmaker in the country, Maruti Suzuki and their products need no introduction whatsoever. Most people in our country never even bother to look at other options when they are on the lookout for their first car. That is the kind of trust and perception people have of Maruti Suzuki - the company that put India on wheels. Here are some of the offers and discounts available on popular Maruti cars. Alto 800: The Alto 800 is one of Maruti’s most affordable and popular hatchbacks in the country. The Alto 800 recently received a facelift considering the stiff competition it has been facing off late from the Renault Kwid and Datsun’s Redi-Go. The Alto 800 facelift is currently being offered with a cash discount of Rs 15,000 while the pre-facelift version can be had with a cash discount of Rs 30,000 depending on availability. Alto K10: The Alto K10 employs a larger 998cc K-Series engine and is another popular hatchback from Maruti. The Alto K10 is available with either petrol or CNG guise. It is also the most affordable Maruti with an AMT gearbox. Maruti is offering cash discount of Rs 22,000 on the manual petrol and CNG versions while the AMT version is available Celerio: The Celerio was the first car to be launched with an AMT gearbox. A worthy alternative to the Hyundai i10, the Celerio is currently available with a cash discout of Rs 20,000 for the petrol variant, Rs 40,000 for the diesel variant, Rs 20,000 for the CNG version and Rs 25,000 for the one with the Automated Manual Transmission or AMT. Wagon R: The Wagon R is certainly the most versatile hatchback from Maruti’s stable. The spacious hatchback is available with either a manual transmission or an AMT ‘box. The manual variant is being offered with a discount of Rs 25,000 while the AMT version can be had for Rs 30,000 lesser. The more premium Wagon R Stingray, the most affordable car with projector headlamps, is now available with a cash discount of Rs 30,000 too. If you are looking for a practical hatchback and are on a budget, then look no further. Ritz: While some sources said the Ritz had been discontinued, the Ritz is still available in most parts of the country. The base Lxi variant of the Ritz is now available with a cash discount of Rs 15,000 while the higher Vxi, Zxi and all variants of the diesel version get a cash discount of Rs 20,000. Swift: The most popular hatchback from Maruti Suzuki, the Swift has always been a favourite among enthusiasts for its peppy performance and neutral handling characteristics. While a new version is currently under development, the current-generation Swift is now available with a cash discount of up to Rs 20,000 for the base Lxi (Petrol) version and all variants of the diesel version. The Vxi and Zxi (noth petrol) is available with cash benefits of up to Rs 10,000. To check out some of the modified Swift’s from across the country, click here. DZire: The best-selling compact sedan in the country, the DZire is also currently the only compact sedan with the option of an AMT gearbox. Though it has been facing some stiff competition from the updated Honda Amaze and the newly-launched Volkswagen Vento, the DZire still manages to hold on to its top slot. Aiming to keep it there, Maruti Suzuki is now offering cash discounts of up to Rs 20,000 on both the diesel variant and the now popular AMT variant of the DZire. The manual petrol version doesn’t get any discounts this month. If you are a fleet operator, then there’s some good news for you as the DZire Tour, which is basically the last-gen DZire and also very popular in the taxi segment, is now available with a cash discount of Rs 20,000. For a spec comparison of all the popular compact sedans in the country, click here. Ertiga: Maruti Suzuki recently introduced the highly praised SHVS system on the diesel variant of the Ertiga. Cars with the SHVS system not only benefit from the government’s subsidy for hybrid vehicles under the FAME India scheme, they have also been exempt from New Delhi Odd-Even scheme. However, this version of the Ertiga is not available with any discounts this month, Still, if you are looking at buying one and are on a tight budget, Maruti Suzuki is offering cash discounts of up to Rs 10,000 on the petrol variant. Ciaz: Maruti Suzuki’s premium sedan has been giving the Honda City a headache for a while now. To make matters worse, MSIL is now offering customers a discount of Rs 20,000 on the petrol variant. Like the Ertiga above, there are no discounts available on the diesel variant with SHVS system. Here is an interesting thread by Roshun on how to convert your old diesel or petrol car into a hybrid. S-Cross: The S-Cross, even though a very capable crossover, hasn’t been a success story like how Maruti would have liked it to be when they launched it last year. The S-Cross so a price cut early this year and early customers got reimbursed too. While the S-Cross facelift was launched recently in Europe, India still gets the older version which, in my opinion, looks way better. Maruti Suzuki is offering cash discounts of up to Rs 10,000 on select variants of the S-Cross. Read my account of an epic drive to Malana with an S-Cross here. Baleno and Vitara Brezza: Maruti Suzuki is still not offering any discount on two of their best-sellers - the Baleno and the Vitara Brezza. Both the cars have seen a surge in the number of booking in the last two months and waiting periods have extended beyond 8 months. Fret not though as our official reviews are out. Nikil | 8 years agoMahindra Homegrown carmaker, Mahindra, has been riding a wave of success since the launch of the impressive KUV100 hatchback. You can read the full review of it here. Meanwhile, M&M is offering some pretty good deals on some of their models. Take a look at them below: KUV100: The KUV100 has shown other carmakers that Mahindra is a force to reckon with. The highly impressive hatchback offers commanding view for the driver and also plenty of space for four. Available with both petrol and diesel engines, the KUV100 is now being offered with a cash discount of Rs 10,000. You can also avail an additional bonus of Rs 25,000 if you plan on exchanging your old car. NuvoSport, TUV300: The NuvoSport and the TUV300 compete in the same segment as the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport. The TUV300 recently received a mild update that gave it the poke it has always needed. Both the crossover/SUVs are available with a cash discount of up to Rs 25,000 and an exchange bonus of Rs 15,000. If you have always been eyeing the updated TUV300, this is the right time to pick one. Scorpio: After the mighty Bolero, the Scorpio is the next best-selling SUV in Mahindra’s lineup. Our supermod swears by the Scorpio, so much so that he owns two of them now. For this month, Mahindra is offering a discount of Rs 39,000 inclusive of an exchange bonus as well. XUV500: The XUV500 has been around for sometime now and it shows. The pre-facelift version was know for having some quality issues, but most of them seems to have been sorted with the new version. However, this has not helped it set the sales chart on fire for Mahindra like how it used to in the past. Hence, the Indian manufacturer is now offering cash benefits of up to Rs 65,000 which includes an exchange bonus too. Ssangyong Rexton: The Rexton by Korean manufacturer Ssanyong is probably the oldest vehicle in Mahindra’s impressive lineup of vehicles. Due for a replacement soon, the current generation Rexton is now being sold with a discount of up to Rs 1.5 lakh which includes an exchange bonus as well.
Nikil | 8 years agoTired of your old car and looking at replacing it with something new? Well, before you walk into the showroom to check out some new cars, here's a look at some of the best offers and discounts you can find across the country. Also see: Car offers and discounts for September 2016 Honda Honda Cars India recently launched the BR-V, a premium compact SUV. However, there are discount schemes currently for the new SUV (Meanwhile, you can read the detailed review of the BR-V here). The good news is that popular models like the City, Amaze and the Jazz. Here’s a list of available discounts and benefits on Honda cars: Brio: Though it is a brilliant hatchback, the Brio has been struggling to rake in the numbers Honda would have liked. The slight premium that Honda charges over other hatchbacks in the segment is one of the main reasons for this. To rectify this, Honda is now offering the Brio with free insurance for the first year. Will that be enough to save the Brio? Personally, I don’t think it will. But if you are in the market looking for a small, practical hatchback, I highly suggest you take a look at the Brio. Amaze: Unlike the Brio, the Amaze has become one of Honda’s best-selling vehicles in the country. The Amaze has become the compact sedan of choice for those who do not even want to consider the Maruti Suzuki DZire. The Amaze is now being offered with free insurance for the first year for both the petrol and diesel variant. Additionally, you can also avail a discount of Rs 10,000 on the diesel variant. Check out more details of the Amaze facelift here. Amaze (Pre-Facelift): Honda is offering a cash discount of up to Rs 1 lakh for the pre-facelift version of the Honda Amaze. However, this will depend on where you are buying the car from as some dealers may not have any stock left. Mobilio: There are rumours that Honda has stopped producing the slow-selling Mobilio to make way for the BR-V. If you are looking for a practical seven-seater, the Mobilio can be had with a cash discount of up to Rs 1 lakh depending on the availability at the dealership-level. Jazz: Another practical hatchback from the Japanese car maker, the Jazz is a worthy alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Baleno or the Hyundai Elite i20. The large, spacious cabin exudes an airy feel and the top-end trim even comes with a flexible seating arrangement making the Jazz a good family hatchback.
