I upgraded my red Scorpio's battery as well, after the first one lasted only 3 years (Exide 65AH) to a Tata Green 80AH battery. That lasted 4.5 years and the extra CCA really helped in winter and on my drives to the hills. Then I switched to an Exide 80 AH again as Amaron was not in stock. But an alternator fault ruined it in 2 years only. So, I changed it to an Amaron Pro 80 AH early this year. 5 year warranty. Cost Rs 5800 after exchange. When upgrading batteries it's good to stay within the charging capabilities of the alternator (up to 90AH for me). OE fitment on the new Scorpio is 72 AH. So gar so good. Its again an Exide.

Ronny Actually the Amaron car batteries come in 3 ranges from GO(3Yr warranty), FLO (4Yr) and PRO with 5yr warranty (the customer can choose which one to go for) and warranty aside, the higher up the range the company claims better lead coating in the charging plates and a special paste mix and more CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) rating. Since most of us dont experience extreme winter, the extra cost(as much as twice for the GO and Flo) does not cut it for most customers and PRO is a slow seller, the battery shops don't stock this particular model too, I had to place an order. There was also similar range with SF called Super sonic which was later discontinued due to poor demand. In my case they make the battery only in PRO as most of the other model it comes with is discontinued and expensive at the time. The batteri is thinner yet longer than normal battery hence we cannot retrofit other batteries(space constraints). So I had to shell out the extra :( . Other cars with the same battery model are Hyundai Accent(P), Verna 1.4 & 1.6(P), Elantra lantra(P), Getz 1.3(P), Honda Civic(P), CR-V(P), Maruti Versa(P), Toyota Corola Atlis(P)
Excellent choice going for Amaron brand, It will serve you well for years. I also switched to Amaron PRO last year since Amaron makes battery only in Pro range 55B24LS for my Rio. With atock battery the difference in crank speed could be felt with lights, stereo and sub on at night. Now though works like a charm. Costed 5300(mrp 6700) with exchange, but worth every penny.
Agreed with you. The difference if i could remember in my stock battery the cranking time would be around 1.2 Seconds but now it has reduced to 0.8 Seconds. Lights don't dim while cranking. I think the Pro series is now Flo series & the Pro series batteries are now only offered with smaller cars only with lower cranking power needs.
