CorsaVeloce I really doubt Renault would be launching this under the Koleos name. The earlier car had flopped very badly and it wasn't very long ago that the Koleos was sold here for 40% discounts to clear up the stocks. This car, even though its a major improvement over the earlier version, is similay priced and in the same segment. Most of the competition is from 7 seaters and 5 seaters SUVs which are being sold at 2/3rds the price. If this is expected to compete with the Fortuner and the Endeavour, it would find it very difficult to find a hold in the market. The Honda CRV when launched with a diesel engine maybe a competitor but it seems to be a difficult task to sell it in the present scenario at this price point , especially since Renault has not built up a good enough image to sell in this segment.

Renault took the wraps off the anticipated SUV - the Koleos. In it's previous generation, the Koleos failed to impress the larger Indian market and sold only in double digits. it had some great features such as the 18-speaker BOSE music system and an extremely reliable 2.0 liter diesel engine but it wasn't enough to woo the Indian customer. Let's see what the new one has to offer. The India-bound 2016 Renault Koleos waslaunched in Malaysia this morning. The price for Renault in Malaysia is around Rs. 28,34,860.47. The second generation model is being offered in Malaysia with only the SCe 170 petrol engine. Four colour choices are available: Meissen Blue, Universal White, Black Metallic and Grey Metallic. The CMF-C/D platform-based 2016 Renault Koleos is powered by the QR25DE 2.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that is also employed in the Nissan X-Trail Hybrid. In the Malaysian-spec Koleos, this engine has been tuned to produce 170 PS (177.47 hp) and 226 Nm of torque, and is paired to the X-Tronic continuously variable transmission. Power is sent to only the front wheels; an all-wheel drive system isn’t available yet. Expect the Indian version to get a diesel option as well as 4WD. Key features of the 2016 Renault Koleos are Pure Vision full-LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, twelve parking sensors, 7-inch TFT screen for the instrument panel, R-LINK 2 8.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, 8-speaker 3D sound system by Arkamys, six airbags, ESC, BSW, ASR, ABS with EBD and EBA. I do have a problem with the interior though. It started with the Tesla Model S and carried on to the Volvo XC90 and since many manufacturers have followed suit ; the iPad look-a-like infotainment system. Not too sure if I like it that much, makes the center console look a little weird. The steering however, is another story. Look nice and has all the functionality. Combined with the digital instrument cluster, it is good view out for the person in the driver's seat.
