Niki Lauda Going by the design Scomadi doesn't seem to be british manufacturer but rather be an Italian Manufacturer. Indeed the retro design is really something to drool over. Design is totally italian. By the way i am unable to find LED indicators on the front apron. I am missing somewhere or the scooter totally misses it out. As familiarity with the Indian market this powerful 125 CC scooter too misses out an ABS feature which should become mandatory to all 2 wheelers above 100CC IMO. Praveen Being a low economic country i don't think Honda would be getting enough customers for its adventure bike. Offroad Motorsport is totally unheard in Nepal.
Yes Ronny, the design isn't British any way you look at it. The styling is based on the old Italian Lambretta. Scomadi is something similar to UM Motorcycles because UM is an Amercian brand with a manufacturing facility in China. The only American bit about UM is the dollars that go China for producing their bikes. Similarly, Scomadi is a British company which sends Pounds to China for producing these scooters. Only the final quality check control is done in the UK. Check the fifth picture on the post above to spot the LED indicators. They are on the apron just below the 'Scomadi' badge.
Niki Lauda I did a little digging and found Honda sells their true-blue offroader- the epic CRF250L! This bike had all the right equipment and technology to take the untrodden path, literally! The bike is equipped with long travel USD's, petal discs, fuel injected 250cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine- counterbalanced for refinement, six-speed transmission, digital instrumentation, off-road tyres and a claimed mileage of 32 kmpl! This could have been the ultimate bike for Indian roads! :D Of course, the price is a bit on the higher side at around INR 5.53 lac.
This is exactly what the Hero Impulse should have been right from the beginning. With a powerplant and gearbox like that, the Impulse would have done way better. Notwithstanding the price, I think this is the ideal bike of hilly areas like Nepal. The level of kit on this bike is quite impressive. I think if they launch it in India, it will be priced just above Rs 1,00,000. Also, Nepal gets the smaller Scrambler too - the Sixty 2. For India, Ducati said that the price difference between the bigger Scrambler and Sixty 2 is so negligible that it won't make sense and then they go ahead and launch it in Nepal. I always found the bigger Scrambler too powerful for my skills and was eagerly waiting for the Sixty 2 to arrive to swing a leg over and see how it is. But now I guess my only option is to make some money here and then move to serene Nepal :p
