Meet_Christian Hi, I use a Duke 390 for city commute and touring. The CBR 250R has been removed from the website, and it looks like the production is halted. Taking that into consideration, I would suggest you to avoid the bike, even though its a very good tourer. The Bajaj Dominar has a lower tuned Duke 390 engine. This gives it a smoother pickup and lesser heating in the city traffic. The Duke 390 on the other hand is very eager to pickup speed and is restless in the lower speeds. It is okay for touring, but the Dominar, even though having lesser power has the same amount of torque as the Duke 390, and the Dominar has a better torque curve for sedate city riding and touring. Overall, for your purpose, I would suggest you to go for the Dominar 400.

Hi everyone. I want to purchase a bike and this is going to be my first one, so i was confused that whether i should go for a 2017 bsiv honda cbr250r or a 2017 ktm duke 390 or bajaj dominar 400? I wanted a bike that performs well and good in city (including high traffic conditions) and one that is also good for occasional touring. Also the bike should have minimum maintenance cost. So which one should i prefer going for?

rakesh.manju Yes, getting experienced by riding one is indeed a good idea as bikes like these are packed with power and it can be a little intimidating when graduating from a normal commuter bike. Meanwhile, you can check out this thread to know more about the details of the upcoming 2017 Duke 390. A walk-around video has been posted which reveals quite some interesting things! :)
