Q.Suzuki Gixxer 250 to be Launched Soon

The CBR 250 R already has so many competitors and Honda is just happy with their chart-busting sales of the Activa. Even if Honda brings the twin cylinder 250 RR, it'll be exorbitantly priced. The new Gixxer 250 looks quite sharp I must say. The engine from the Inazuma means that it won't be rapid but instead give a very progressive feel which should be ideal for touring. I hope they launch an exclusive tourer version of this one with a single piece seat for touring. The stepped seat in the picture above looks a bit impractical for carrying luggage I feel. If this is launched in India, then I guess Honda will be prompted to launch the latest CBR 250R too. Looks like good times ahead for the Indian biker in terms of the options available in the market.

[B]The Suzuki GSX R250 aka Gixxer 250 Unveiled In China:[/B] Suzuki has launched the Gixxer 250 in China. The bike is powered by a 250cc parallel twin engine borrowed from the Inazuma. The power figure stands at 24.6 bhp at 8,000 rpm and the torque at 23.4 Nm, produced at an even lower 6,500 rpm. The engine is paired to a six-speed transmission and the power is sent to the rear wheels via a chain drive. The design is quite similar to its litre class brethren, as all the bikes under the Gixxer moniker are. The bike gets a two-to-one triangular exhaust. The instrument cluster is all-digital and sports a speedometer, tachometer, dual tripmeters, service and oil change indicator, mileage indicator (in Kilometers per litre), fuel gauge and a clock. The tell-tale lights include high beam indicator, turn lights, engine check light, shift light, coolant light and an engine oil low level light. The GSX R250 would be an ideal sport tourer, I guess. The power band also seems to be at lower revs, unlike other performance-based liquid cooled engines. Although there is no official word as to when it'd come to India, I expect this bike to be launched by the end of next year.
