It would be really weird riding a bike that does not make sound. I have tried the Ampere 60 electric scooter and the lack of sound made me feel like I am just rolling down a slope and kind of out of control. Over that the brakes were even worse than that on my bicycle which made it way more scary. Other than transplanting the power train of a vehicle, a lot of work needs to be done in better efficiency. This can be done when you are developing from scratch. Regenerative braking is a must have feature which most of the smaller electric vehicles lack. In the stop go traffic, the regenerative braking may help us increase the range a bit. I am waiting to see the further iterations of the bike and wish to see them improve year after year.

With the kind of bookings they got, I hope they are prepared to meet the demands. Yes, acceleration is something that would be really addictive because of all that torque. It makes great sense as a commuter but in order to make it a viable alternative to the petrol engined commuters, the price has to be half of what it is now. Or at least below the psychological barrier of Rs. 1 Lakh.

That's quite a lot of interest and would be helpful for them for the production setup.With the Tork, I feel its the Reva all over again as a bike. However here, the pickup and torque are things people would love. After a test ride more can be confirmed about the handling. I wonder, if they could have gained more by reducing weight or getting bigger batteries by producing it from scratch,but that would call for entirely different timelines. I guess they may be working to produce an electric car from scratch later,but for now the Tork T6X may act as their fund raiser. I guess Mahindra also may be keeping an eye on the company. Being a company which has a 2 wheeler and Electric vehicle department, this product would help them improve their offerings. Keenly watching this space and hoping to add an electric bike in my parking sometime in the future.

That said, it is still relatively affordable for those who just want to commute to work and back. A top speed of 100 kmph is more than enough for city riding, and with a range of 100 km on a single charge or 80 km within an hour's charge, this bike does seem quite interesting. I only see the cost of replacement batteries after 1000 charge cycles (at least 3-4 years) as a huge cost, but then again, batteries don't just wither up completely - you will still get about 50-60 km range if you don't change the batteries after the number of charge cycles is over.

Here, in case of this bike also, the design seems to have a lot of inspiration from the FZ. The price of 1+ lakhs is too steep for a bike which which go only upto 100kph, but as an electric bike it is an achievement. Is this price after all the FAME subsidies? Or can we expect it to come down post subsidies? A range of 100kms is decent for city commute, but I do wish it was more. What are the charging times and options? And any idea about the 0-60 times? Being a newly established company, I feel worried about their dealership and service network. When one spending more than a lakh on a bike, that is one thing one would be worried about. Brand value is important in the price range. Had it come as a Hero or a TVS , it would fetch far more interest. I expect in the future some major two wheeler manufacturer would be offering a deal to them like it happened with Mahindra and Reva.
