[QUOTE_NODE]"Originally posted by Vishwajeet" Sir, I am confused between the two. My monthly running is around 1500 kilometers, please suggest which car is better for me. I am also mileage conscious. [/QUOTE_NODE] As Mike_Martin said, between Maruti and Hyundai as a brand, you will get more piece of mind of owning a Maruti but more gadgetry in the Hyundai. Also, are you sure about wanting a diesel? With your average monthly running, you would end up spending more on the car initially, without much savings later. Petrol variants of both these cars are significantly cheaper and provide the same level of equipment. In case of Petrol, you could consider the Baleno as it is a more premium car and feels bigger than these two as well. The Swift is over due for an all new car, hence I would suggest that you consider some other options as well.

Vishwajeet I would suggest you the Swift Vdi, as it got a punchy 1.3 litre 4-cylinder engine which is more fuel efficient. Swift's handles very well and the ride quality is also good. Downsides are a cramped rear seat and lesser features when compared to a similarly specced Grand i10. Maruti Suzuki cars will be cheaper to maintain over the course of time and will fetch you a good resale value. Have you looked at the Suzuki Baleno?

Vishwajeet Both the vehicles are good, but Maruti Suzuki is always better in terms of mileage and after sales service as it's more cost effictive. But Hyundai gives you better gizmos which Maruti Suzuki doesn't offer. So the choice is yours..
