Q.Mahindra E2O Plus Launch and Updates

A few shots of the new e20 Plus. Looks identical to the regular e20 from the front. The e2o Plus is 3590 mm long, 1575 mm wide and 1585 mm high. Its ground clearance is 170 mm and it has a wheelbase of 2258 mm. Wheels - 165/60 R14. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n19820[/ATTACH] The rear is wider and gets new vertically placed tail lamps, spoiler, cladding, and chunky new bumpers. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n19822[/ATTACH] The interiors design and elements are carried forward from the regular e20. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n19825[/ATTACH] Space at the rear looks impressive. Don't know if the front seats are pushed all the way forward. Waiting on the spec sheet now. I think this could very well be the game changer for Mahindra EV that they have been waiting for.

I think Reva should be the ambassador for 'Make-in-India'. The company has done India proud by producing a mass EV way before Nissan or Tesla could launch their products. My first glimpse of a Reva was when the postal department in Trivandrum bought a couple of them for the mailmen. It was much fun to see them pottering around town in those little yellow machines that produced no sound whatsoever. It almost felt like magic to me (mind you I was in school then).

Mahindra E2O has a 140 Km range. It has a direct drive transmission with instant torque. It comes with a next-generation Lithium-ion battery. It has about 10 computers in it that does everything in the car. It also has 4 doors now for convenience. Top speed of the E2O Plus is 85 kmph. It comes with a fast charger that can charge the battery to 95% in 90 minutes. The first three variants come with a 48 Volt battery (like the existing E2O) and hence a range of only 120 Km. The top end P8 variant has a 72 volt battery which extends range to 140 Km.

Mahesh Babu, COO, Mahindra Electric is on stage now. He says as Mahindra Electric the EVs together have driven 260 million KM in India. It has four electric products - ESupro van and Cargo, E-Verito and E20. The launch of the E2O Plus would be its 5th vehicle.
