BMW-MIni ties up with Amazon.in for bookings BMW’s sporty sub-brand Mini launched the Cooper S Carbon edition yesterday (October 25). Limited to just 20 units, the Cooper S Carbon can only be booked through e-commerce giant Amazon.in. The Cooper S Carbon, as the name suggests, is based on the faster hatchback - the Cooper S. This hot hatch is meant to bridge the gap between the Cooper S and the John Cooper Works (JCW) Mini. Interesting additions to the Cooper S Carbon include the full JCW Aero package and sports matte black centre and side stripes accented by red pin striping. All the chrome elements from the Cooper S have been blacked out which further accentuates the sporty look. This new version sits on 17-inch lightweight alloy wheels and also features the JCW tunic kit that bumps up power from the 2.0-litre turbo petrol from 192bhp to 210bhp. Torque is up by 20Nm too and now stands at 300Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and Mini claims that the Cooper S Carbon edition can hit a ton in 6.5 seconds - up by 0.2 seconds. The Cooper S Carbon also comes with launch control to appeal to serious enthusiasts. The Wired package now comes as standard and gets you a larger infotainment screen that sits bang in the middle of the dashboard. An insider from BMW India recently told me that the Cooper S Carbon was sold within seconds of its launch in China recently. In India, however, car buyers are more wary of booking a car immediately after it is launched and hence some of the 20 cars are still up for grabs.
