JijoMalayil Great comparison. The Tucson looks so similar to the Santa Fe from all angles! I've got mixed opinions about this SUV and this segment. On the one hand, things going for it are that it looks like the much more premium SantaFe at a cheaper price-point [That however doesn't bode well for the Santa Fe, that it looks like it's cheaper cousin]. It is also a Hyundai, in a segment that doesn't quite have much competition. On the other hand, this segment hasn't seen much sales precisely because it's something in between, it's premium from a price point of view but not premium enough from a brand/offering perspective. Some of the lower variant buyers might get tempted to go for a Creta top end fully loaded, while the top variant buyer might consider opting for a entry level Fortuner/ Endeavour/ Pajero, simply for the premiumness of those SUVs. Why, the formidable Innova Crysta also fits into the same price range as the Tucson, as do the Octavia, Jetta and Elantra. My point is no matter what your reason for considering the Tucson, there's a wide range of alternatives that probably give more bang for your buck than this SUV segment.

Let's compare Hyundai’s range of SUVs in the Indian Market. Hyundai has had limited success (starting with the Terracan and the first-gen Tucson and the Santa fe) in this segment till about a year back until the Creta came and changed the fortunes of the Korean manufacturer. With the launch of the Tucson, Hyundai has gradually built a fleet of SUVs in India. Let’s compare the three SUV offerings from Hyundai. Styling is subjective, you get to decide how it fares when compared to its competition out there. Can Tucson be able to catapult Hyundai to a premium SUV maker? Let's take a look at the dimensions of the three SUVs.
