The exterior looks really good like all the new Hyundai cars but the interior is a bit disappointing, especially after the Elantra's premium cabin. That's something Hyundai could have worked on. Otherwise, I think Hyundai have got another winner on their hands. People will lap up the Tucson just like the Creta.

Hyundai launched their mid-sized premium SUV, the Tucson in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 18.99 lakh for the base petrol variant, and Rs 24.99 lakh for the top-spec diesel variant (ex-showroom, Delhi). We in India would be familiar with the first generation of Hyundai Tucson which was discontinued in 2008, courtesy poor sales figures. Based on the Hyundai’s Fluidic sculpture 2.0, The Tucson gets a bold hexagonal grille and sleek dual LED projector headlamps. The sculpted front bumper gets LED DRLs incorporated into it. Tucson also gets body cladding all-around to enhance its SUV credential. Shard shoulder that merges into the LED tail lamps gives it a bit of character, raked windscreen, LED brake lamps, twin exhaust pipes tipped with chrome and roof spoiler at the rear completes the exterior design. Tucson also gets those good-looking 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. All in all, quite a pleasing design, I would say. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n20821[/ATTACH] Inside, it's typical Hyundai. You get those similar twin-pod instrument cluster with a MID screen in between, that you have come to see in Hyundai cars. The materials used inside the cabin is top-notch and ensures a refined cabin experience. A new horizontal central console layout with silver detailing houses the 8-inch HD touchscreen infotainment unit that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The seats come upholstered with premium leather and overall the cabin looks very plush. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n20822[/ATTACH] On the features front, you get dual-zone climate control, six airbags, ESP with VSM, HAC (Hill-start Assist Control), DBC (Downhill Brake Control), ABS with EBD and reverse parking camera along with front and rear parking sensors. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n20823[/ATTACH] Tuscon gets two engine options, a 2.0-litre Nu Dual VTVT engine that produces 155 PS and 192 Nm of torque. The diesel variants get an all-new 2.0-litre R e-VGT (electronic Variable Geometry Turbocharger) mill that develops 185 PS of power and 400Nm of peak torque. Both variants come with an option of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. All variants are front wheel driven for now, but Hyundai promises that an all-wheel drive variant will be in April 2017 with more features.
