Kartikeya, I would pick the Vento diesel with the DSG gearbox as it offers way more fun than the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. However, do keep in mind that VW's are a lot more expensive to maintain when compared to Maruti Suzuki. The Vento's ride quality is way better than the Maruti Vitara and the diesel engine with the DSG gearbox makes it properly fast too. In comparison, the 1.3-litre engine in the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is a bit of a letdown. The Brezza begs for a larger motor and that's probably the only downside. I guess it simply boils down to how much resale value you are excpecting if and when you want to sell the car. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will get you a lot more bang for the buck than the Volkswagen.

It depends on your requirements. Do you prefer driving dynamics and speed? Plus the convenience of a brilliant DSG automatic transmission. If you do, Vento is the ideal pick. On the other side, if you are an inclination towards SUVs and need a spacious cabin and a decent diesel motor, Brezza will do the job. The ride quality and driving dynamics won't be as good as the Vento. And you also don't get an automatic transmission. Test drive both the cars, and you can feel the difference.
