Sekar, that's a good point. The reason I think Mercedes hasn't launched that model in India is because they know that a performance hatchback will not sell for that kind of money. Indian car buyers would prefer if they got a Sedan or an SUV/Crossover for the dough they'd be paying. That's why we have only got the CLA45 AMG and the GLA45 AMG as of now. Both these cars are derived from the A-Class hatchback. Even if you compare the sales volumes of the standard cars, I'm pretty sure that Merc sells more CLAs and GLAs than the A-Class hatchback. Check out the drive of the C43 AMG on the track: https://www.zigwheels.com/forum/posts/21825-driving-the-mercedes-benz-c43-amg-at-the-buddh-international-circuit

Don't you think that they should launch the AMG A45 in India, that would be a great move.

Making it the 13th launch in 2016, Mercedes-Benz India has launched the AMG C43 today at a price of Rs 74.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The German carmaker has the largest portfolio of cars on offer in India. Hard to believe right? This is the third car in “AMG 43” range, adding to the already existing GLE 43 (GLE450 AMG) and SLC43 which costs Rs 89.25 and 77.5 lakh respectively. AMG C43 will be available only in a single variant. Straight to the powerplant, the C43 gets the same 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine - that pumps out 367 PS of power and 520 Nm of torque, it comes mated to with Mercedes' new 9-speed gearbox. Other AMG goodies include an AMG Dynamic Select, which lets one alter the steering, suspension, gearbox and engine individually. Roshun is at the BIC for the launch and will update us on how the C43 behaves on the track. Visually the AMG C43 looks identical to the C-Class which it is based on. Few differentiating elements include a more aggressive set of bumpers, diamond grille and larger 18-inch alloys. You also get window line and rear view mirrors finished in black to add to that sporty appeal. On the inside what is unique to the AMG C43 are the leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, an AMG instrument cluster, aluminium pedals and red seat belts. The AMG C43 will rival the Audi S5 in India that retails at a price tag of Rs 66.2 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The S5 houses a V6 motor that produces 333 PS. Will the new AMG C43 be able to trump the Audi?
