Bajaj was shipping this motorcycle to dealerships from the beginning of this month, but there has been no official communication about its launch. However, today its website carried the price tag and the text "Introducing Bajaj V12 at Rs. 56,283, ex-showroom, Delhi," which means it is going for a soft launch of this product - the younger sibling of the popular V15. Bajaj has launched a less expensive variant in the V-series, the V12. And before you start wondering, no, it doesn't have a V12 engine. :p The V12 is equipped with a downsized version of the engine in V15. Output figures stand at 11 PS of peak power and 10.8 Nm of peak torque. The bike is priced at INR 56,283 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The overall design isn't that different from its elder sibling. The V12 has a slightly thinner,100 section rear tyre. Also, to keep the costs down, the front wheel gets only drum brakes. The V12 sports a more traditional looking alloys and the front forks come with fork gaiters. I think all the bikes should have fork gaiters because it helps prevent dust build-up at the seals. The rear retains the gas-charged shock absorbers. In a nutshell, the V12 will appeal to those who are looking for some zing in a regular commuter. Here is a picture from Bajaj's website.
