Moumita | 7 years agoI Live For Speed I just love this car, it is so awesome and good looking too. The latest models of super cars that are going to launch this year are just fantastic. and they are all super fast. It's thrilling. Check out the list here https://goo.gl/rXbyKi
Jijo | 7 years agoRebadged Tivoli is likely to be launched in India soon. I was just wondering how much would be the S-201 (Tivoli) be priced at? Even with heavy localisation, would Mahindra price it competitively? I think Rs 10-14 lakh would be a sweet spot. What are your thoughts? Nikil | 7 years ago[QUOTE_NODE]"Originally posted by Roshun" JijoMalayilThe TUV500 (if that's what this extended TUV300 will be called) makes a good case for itself as the replacement for the Mahindra Bolero. With new safety norms coming into effect from April 2017, carmakers of existing vehicles have until 2019 to comply with the revised norms. [/QUOTE_NODE] That is one possibility. But Mahindra could even be thinking of replacing the ageing Xylo with the TUV500. The TUV 500 is likely to be priced between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 14 lakh - that's in the same price bracket as the BS-IV Xylo which starts at Rs 9 lakh for the base variant and Rs 12 lakh for the top-end. And while Mahindra is busy selling the TUV500, they'll have enough time on their hands to launch an all-new Bolero that meets future safety norms at a lower price point aimed for rural markets.
Roshun | 7 years agoJijoMalayil The TUV500 (if that's what this extended TUV300 will be called) makes a good case for itself as the replacement for the Mahindra Bolero. With new safety norms coming into effect from April 2017, carmakers of existing vehicles have until 2019 to comply with the revised norms. Vehicles such as the Mahindra Thar and Mahindra Bolero will have to be extensively reworked to meet the new norms. Even the Scorpio will need some changes to meet new crash test norms. The TUV300 and Scorpio share the same platform, so technically it should be possible for the Scorpio to comply as well. The TUV500 (or whatever it will be called) will be a good / fitting replacement to the Bolero.
Jijo | 7 years agoAn extended Mahindra TUV300, was spotted testing recently. Looks like Mahindra has integrated a front-facing third row of seats with the new SUV. The SUV, let's presume to be named as the TUV500, which would probably replace the Mahindra Bolero in the near future. Expect the same pumped up version of the mHawk 100 diesel engine, which produces 100 PS and 240 Nm of torque. Roshun | 7 years agoMahindra has updated the Scorpio Getaway now. It comes with the new-generation Scorpio front-end and interiors as well. It now sports the 2.2 litre MHawk diesel engine. Earlier the Getaway had the older 2.6 litre CRDe engine. The Getaway will be available in 4x2 and 4x4 variants. The one in the pictures below though is running 16-inch alloy wheels, while the new generation Scorpio has 17-inchers. Also the PCD (distance between nuts on the wheel) is the older 160 mm PCD, while the new Scorpio has narrower 114.3 mm PCD. So it looks like only the engine and front-end body shell has been upgraded, while the chassis and load bay, as well as suspension is still the older-generation one. The Getaway has leaf-springs at the rear, as does the PikUp as it's meant for load bearing operations. The PikUP won't be sold in India - or even if it is - it will be for commercial use only. The Getaway is a lifestyle pickup like the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross and Tata Xenon. Roshun | 7 years agoMore Mahindra spyshots. This time from Tushar Kamath of CarDekho. This is the Mahindra KUV100 with equipped with a CNG fuelling system on the G80 1.2 litre petrol engine. There are no external details that are different. The only detail is the CNG / petrol changeover switch. And the KUV100 is running test plates. Next to it are the new Getaway and Scorpio PikUp for export.
Nikil | 7 years agoAutocar India recently posted images of an all-new Mahindra SUV based on the TUV300 platform. The new SUV looks longer than the TUV300 and if the report is to be believed, it will have forward-facing third row seats as well. The mechanicals are likely to be shared with the TUV300. The spy shots show a covered rear glass area that indicates where most of the changes are going to be. The launch of the sub-4 metre Bolero Power Plus has seen a dip in sales of the standard Bolero and the Xylo hasn’t been selling as much as Mahindra hoped it would. The larger TUV can fill this space up pretty well. To boot, it’s based on a newer platform as well. Nikil | 8 years agoThe Yamaha MT-03, which was unveiled at the EICMA 2015 and previewed at theAuto Expo 2016, has been spotted testing by bunnypunia. Initially, it was reported that the MT-03 would not be launched in India. The spy shots however suggests that it could indeed make its way to India. It could even be produced here which would make it less expensive than the R3. The MT-03 measures 2,090mm in length, 745mm in width and 1,035mm in height, has a wheelbase of 1,380mm, a ground clearance of 160mm. The seat height is a friendly 780mm. The MT-03 is powered by the same 321cc liquid-cooled in-line two cylinder engine that comes in the R3. Power and torque figures are likely to be the same at 42PS and 29.6Nm. Nikil | 8 years agoA Lexus RX 450h SUV with test plates was spotted testing in New Delhi by Motorbeam. Toyota has reportedly imported a limited number of Lexus models in India for testing and customer demo purposes. The Lexus brand will be launched in India in early 2017. PC: Motorbeam The Motorbeam team report says that the RX 450h will cost around Rs 80-85 lakh. Since it is a hybrid, customers in Delhi can avail of VAT exemption for hybrid cars (5% instead of the 12.5% in other states). This SUV, like the Honda Accord Hybrid, will not qualify for the government’s FAME tax benefits as it will be a CBU. So expect this SUV to be more expensive in other states. Lexus is expected to open dealerships in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore initially and later expand to other states.
Nikil | 8 years agoMercedes has released teaser images of the upcoming pickup truck jointly developed by Daimler and Nissan. The pickup truck will be sold through Merc's passenger car division. Reports say this pickup may be called the Merc GLT or the X-Class. It will be manufactured at Renault's Corboda plant in Argentina and Nissan's Barcelona plant in Spain alongside the Nissan Navara NP300 and Renault Alaskan. The Nissan Navarra NP300 below. The pickup truck will be sold in Europe, Australia, South Africa and Latin America staring next year. This will be Merc's first pickup truck in decades if you exclude the mighty G63 AMG 6x6 which is built on a 'made-to-order' basis.
Kaiserketkar | 8 years ago[QUOTE_NODE]"Originally posted by JOY MRC" The Isuzu D-max V-Cross is a very striking, well equipped and capable Lifestyle pick up, now selling without any real competition. Looks like folks at Mahindra didn't like it that much. They seem to have gone ahead and updated their old Scorpio based lifestyle pick-up truck the Getaway. The model was launched somewhere back in 2009 I think and was a rival to the TATA's Xenon which also was a lifestyle pick-up(which also looked more handsome LINK by the way). The problem with these vehicles was that these were ill equipped on the inside and too bouncy due to less weight at the back. The long rear overhang didn't make it much capable off road also. The models were flops in the private car market(Made on Order only) but sold rather well in the Export markets where the demand is higher for this segment. Now though, things are getting rather interesting with the ISUZU V-Cross and Mahindra doesn't want to be left behind. The updated Scorpio Getaway was spotted earlier with heavy camouflages but was not sure if it was for the domestic markets or for Export only. But the updated vehicle was spotted now on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway with minimal camouflages by MotorWorldIndia. It indicates that the launch of vehicle will happen very soon in the market. The updated Scorpio Getaway will most likely carry forward the 2.2L mHawk diesel engine available on the regular Scorpio as the spotted car had sported mHawk badges. It will be offered with 4-wheel drive system and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Current gen Scorpio SUV was face-lifted back in 2014. From the pictures we can see that the all new Mahindra Scorpio Getaway borrows its front end styling from the current gen Scorpio SUV till the rear door. The spotted vehicle is a double cab pick-up that looks far better than the previous Getaway. The side steps are integrated and looks similar to the single bar type ones of the Mahindra Thar. Surprisingly, the rear deck has been carried forward 'unchanged' even with taillights from the old-gen Scorpio and same goes for the Alloy wheel design. There is a new bumper treatment with an integrated rear step. On the inside, the Scorpio Getaway is expected to get the all new interior of the current-gen Scorpio. So expect an all new dashboard , Steering wheel, Infotainment system, a proper MID etc. Point of interest is that the car that was spotted came with “Mahindra Pik-Up” logo which is the more utilitarian version of the line up(like the Bolero Pik-up). Since this is the test car only, Expect the badging to be changed in the production version. The Scorpio Getaway when launched is expected to be priced to go head on with the ISUZU V-Cross and launch might happen end of this year or early next year. Source - MotorWorldIndia [/QUOTE_NODE] That is one confused SUV. I just don't understand whom they are targetting this one at. The front end of the car, up to the c-pillar are now like the New-Gen Scorpio, so cost savings. Also I expect the interiors to be similar to the S2 variant of the Scorpio because, you know... utilitarian SUV. Now with the front end updated and the rear unchanged, it looks even more of a mismatch. As it is, even in it's first avataar, the Getaway looked odd, with the cargo deck appearing added as an afterthought. Now this makes it just worse. I don't understand if Tata can manage a decent looking product in the Xenon, and Isuzu can do such a good job with the D-Max, why can't the Scorpio Getaway be made to look better? Ugh!
Praveen | 8 years agoJOY MRC I feel they should've updated the rear deck as well. It looks great at the front but then the rudimentary design of the rear deck spoils the looks. Instead of the long crease running on the side, they should've flared up the wheel arches, just like the front. I have noticed many popular pick-up trucks in foreign countries have flared rear wheels The side profile in this one is so flat that one immediately tends to link it with a commercial truck. I wish they make the rear deck similar to the one in D-max. It's much cleaner and well shaped.

Vidit | 8 years agoAlthough there are no pictures to go with this, Mercedes India has imported a batch of the GLE 43 AMG to India. This car will probably replace the GLE450 currently on sale. This car will be offered with an all new AMG engine, making its debut in India. Expect it to be competitivecly priced, given the valuation declared at the time import
Vidit | 8 years agoThe new Mercedes Benz GL A has been spotted doing testing. Here are some first hand images. It is not an all new model, but a mid-life facelift. Expected launch is around mid-2017. Heres a video of the car being driven around. Looks like it gets new headlamps and tail lamps along with minor tweaks to the front and rear design. [youtube_video]https://youtube.com/watch?v=X2fxOK0wc4Q[/youtube_video]
Jijo | 8 years agoLexus RC-F was spotted in Chennai, near the Madras Motor Sports Club’s (MMSC) track in Irungattukottai. This looks like a one off import vehicle, as Lexus is reported to only start operation in India next year, and the RC-F is not one of the initial models scheduled to make it to India. RC-F is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that puts out 477 hp and 530 Nm of torque. Image: teambhp.com

Arvind | 8 years agoThe 2017 Chevrolet Beat hatchback has been spotted testing in Indian roads on several occasions and it is expected to launch here sometime in 2017. And now Indian auto blog has spotted a new spy image, which shows the interiors of the next gen Beat Hatchback for the first time. Although we already know the fact that our Indian-spec Chevrolet Beat will look different in design parameters, from the international spec Spark(Beat), it is widely expected that it will draw some styling cues from its international sibling. The exteriors features a slightly modified 2 part split grill, with redesigned headlamps and taillamps and round fog lamps. The new highlight of the next gen Chevrolet Beat, now features the dual tone Black and Beige interiors, like the Hyundai Grand i10 and could also get a 7-inch touchscreen system. So we can also expect its rival Grand i10 facelift to sport a similar touchscreen system. It is also reported that it will continue to be offered in both petrol and diesel engines options. Jijo | 8 years agoThe Mahindra e20 four-door variant was again spotted in Bangalore. The rear gets a slightly different styling to accommodate the extra doors. The four-door variant will make the e20 a more practical car, in turn increasing its popularity among the masses. I really wish that Mahindra would have made the e20 a little wider, it still looks not proportionate right? The regular e20 motor produces 25.5 hp and 53.9 Nm of torque. A full charge can be attained in around 5 hours and the range is 100 kilometers per charge. Vidit | 8 years agoWe all know that Audi has an all-new A8 under development and until that is launched, it will be few steps behind it's German brothers in the luxury limosine game. All new spyshots of the 2018 Audi A8 have flooded the web and it seems rather exciting. The tail-lamp glow pattern can be clearly seen and so can the front design. Codenamed "Audi D5", the design seems to be influenced by the Audi Prologue concept (image below). Expect the interior to be packed with gizmos, which should include all that has been offered in the new A4 and Q7. The fourth generation Audi A8 will be based on the MLB-Evo platform. With the new platform, the next gen Audi A8 is expected to be around 200 kg lighter than the outgoing model. Engine lineup will include 3.0L six- and 4.0L eight-cylinder engines available in petrol and diesel variants. At this point, it is unclear whether the 6.3L W12 will make to this car, but I have serious doubts. The Audi Prologue Concept (Source : IAB)
Arjun | 8 years agoThemallustig Great find. It looks like its Pune considering the registeration, condition of the cars(mud on the rear plates) and Tatas factory in the city. I hope we can expect a diwali release for at least one of the cars.
Themallustig | 8 years agoTata upcoming offerings the compact SUV Nexon and Kite 5 compact sedan was spotted testing together. Both are expected to increase the sales volumes of Tata passenger cars in India. We expect the Kite 5 to be launched during the festive season, and Nexon by early 2017. The Kite 5 looks tall according to sedan standards, and Nexon looks wide enough to seat three at the rear. Jijo | 8 years agoA BMW Coupe (name not confirmed) was spied testing recently. Is the new 6-series coupe? The car looks really long, perhaps, longer than any coupe offering from BMW. This stretched wheelbase will ensure more room inside. One thing is sure, expect the car to have a striking design, borrowing cues from its existing line-up. Vidit | 8 years ago[QUOTE_NODE]"Originally posted by JijoMalayil" Volkswagen has released a teaser video of the Teramont SUV which based on the MQB platform. A few details have been revealed in the video. Measuring 5.04 meters in length, it a full-fledged seven-seat vehicle. Take a look at this video. VW Teramont will be available with a 2.0-liter TSI engine and a V6 petrol engine in North America. The 2.0-liter TSI motor produces 238 hp, while the 3.6-liter V6 motor delivers 280 hp. [/QUOTE_NODE] From the looks of it, this car seems to be the Skoda Kodiaq, re-badged. As we know that Skoda's brand recall is not great in some countries, they are probably developing this vehicle for such countries, so that it can be sold with the VW badge.
Arvind | 8 years agoNext Gen Chevrolet Beat with Brige interiors spied in Delhi..It’s expected to launch in India in early 2017, and will spawn a crossover (Chevrolet Beat Activ) and sub-4m sedan (Chevrolet Beat Essentia) as well. Although the test mule is heavily covered up, Chevrolet has revealed the exterior of the next gen Beat, which is nearly similar to the international-spec Spark. More of a heavy facelift than a next generation, the 2017 Chevrolet Beat gets an updated 2-part grille flanked by large headlamps, chrome embellishment on the grille and headlamps, roof rails, round foglamps, new taillamps and a re-positioned registration plate area. Changes inside are likely to be limited to a new dual-tone dashboard housing a 7-inch MyLink infotainment system and a revised bike-inspired instrument cluster. Improvements to the build quality as well as materials are also expected. Image: IAB

Vidit | 8 years agoIt is safe to say that is raining Audis this year. After the lauinch of the new Q7, Audi brought in the super cool R8, followed by the all-new A4. I had just uploaded some snaps of the new Q5 being tested as well. The latest addition to the Audi line-up could possibly be the A5 Sportback. This car is essentially the smaller A7 and the regular version of the S5. The S5 has been selling in India for the last year now and has happened to win some fan boys of it's own. With the A5, expect it to be priced between the A4 and A6, should be offered in both petrol and diesel variants. Surely it would get the 2.0 liter diesel engine, but otjer engine options remian to be a mystery. JOY | 8 years agoArjun Definetly agree. Chevrolet brand is disappearing fast from the consumers minds. Better act fast launching models inline with the market trends(premium hatchbacks, compact SUV's) bringing the back the old Beat is not going to help anymore. They need a miracle product(like Tiago for TATA, Kwid for Renault) to gain back what they have lost in India.
Arjun | 8 years agoRoshun Chevy needs much more than a facelift for the Beat. Even though they had a great diesel engine and lots of features, the Beat had been around quite long. Chevy not performing well, and lack of expansion of the brand is another cause of worry to many. Chevy needs to bring in more products from Europe, instead of dumping the Chinese designs here. They need to understand that the market, especially in the hatchback segment is quite tough. With all new products like the Kwid and Tiago coming up, they need to bring in all new products to face the competition. Any other brand like Maruti can manage to sell older designs, but when it comes to GM, they really need something new and exciting to pull a person to their showroom. The Chevrolet Sonic would be something that would pull crowds into the showrooms. Even the Cruze hatchback may do great considering the market for premium hatchbacks.
Roshun | 8 years agoThe upcoming Chevrolet Beat has been spotted testing, by a friend of CorsaVeloce . The car was completely covered in camouflage, so it's hard to tell the differences with the current one. However, one thing is for sure when you look at the photos below - that the car being tested is an iteration of the current Chevrolet Beat only, and is likely to have minimal cosmetic changes at the most. It will definitely not be like the one posted in THIS piece. The Beat has been one of the best-selling cars for General Motors in India. It was the first to come with a small diesel (3-cylinder, 1 litre). It was also one of the most fuel efficient small cars for a while, before more efficient diesels came along. In 2014, General Motors launched the "all new" Chevrolet Beat with minor cosmetic changes, that were tough to spot. Now, let's see what GM has done to the Beat in this iteration, that should be here the festive season. The body shell and shape of the car looks the same as the older Beat, so expect only minor changes again. Jijo | 8 years ago
"Originally posted by JOY MRC" Toyota is all set to launch the updated Etios sedan and Etios Liva hatch. The updated cars were unveiled in Brazil last week and the company has confirmed that both cars will be launched before the festive season kicks in. The company is in the final stages to roll out the updated cars. Toyota dealers are offering a reasonable discounts on its existing Etios and Etios Liva. Dealers in Delhi and Chennai have confirmed a cash discount of ₹ 12,500 on the Etios and ₹ 10,000 on the Liva. Mumbai buyers can get a discount of ₹ 13,000-15,000 on both the cars(all deals seem too low to justify). While discounts on the cars are not huge and do not come directly from the company, it still indicates that Toyota is in a bit of hurry to clear its existing stocks as the updated cars are likely to come just before the festive season. The facelifts of the Toyota Etios and Etios Liva will now sport a V-shaped grille with black inserts and some chrome bits. The front bumper in black matches the fog lamps. The car's dimensions is still unchanged. The car also gets new 15 inch alloy wheels, current model comes with 14 inch wheels only. The top-end trim of the cars launched in Brazil gets Piano black interiors with a touch-screen infotainment system with Navigation(Whether it will be available in the Indian variant is unknown as of now).No mechanical changes are to be expected with both the cars. Vidit | 8 years agoNikilSJ, I think the interior of the new Q5 will get a similar treatment as the Q7, with the straight, contemporary lines and the faux grille dash. With Audi, there is not much left to imagination as you probably know. Whenever their line-up of cars are due for an update, the basically design one properly and then leave the rest for the designers to just adjust for size and apply. Also, if you notice the second picture carefully, you will notice the slightly bulging arches (much like the Duster, if I may say so). And im sure it'll not be too aggressive - as we saw with the Q7, just more modern and 'sophisticated'
Nikil | 8 years agoCorsaVeloce it's high time the Q5 got a overhaul. The older model has been around for nearly 8 years now which is a long time in this day and age. I hope the new Q5 feels a bit more premium on the inside as that is something I found lacking in the older version. My question is: Will the new Q5's design be an evolution of the current car or will it be all new with more straight surfaces like the new Audi Q7? I hope Audi goes for a more aggressive design as the older one looked too soft in the eye for me.
Vidit | 8 years agoAudi is testing the 2017 Audi Q5 around the world ahead of its debut later this year, and India with its 'special' road conditions makes for a great playground to benchmark this new Audi. In the latest spyshots from Motoroids, the rear facade of the upcoming SUV is clear, with the addition of new LED lights. With this 2017 model, the Q5 will enter it's second generation. It has long been overdue as this car has been selling with minor facelifts since its debut in 2008. Expect the Q5 to undergo a full re-design, to keep in line with the evolutionary design of all the new Audis. I think that the biggest change in the Q5 will be the mechanicals. It will be based on the 'Modular Longitudinal Matrix' platform, also known as ‘MLB Evo’. This platform is known to be extremely versatile and currently underpins vehicles as compact as the fifth generation Audi A4 and as big and luxurious as the Bentley Bentayga. The 2017 Audi Q5 could be offered in front-wheel drive configuration in some markets (such as India!), but most of its engine models are likely to have the quattro permanent all-wheel drive as standard. Expect the obvious 1.4- and 2.0-litre TSI petrol and 2.0- and 3.0-litre TDI diesel motors to make it to our shores. Transmission choices will most likely be 7-speed S tronic and 8-speed tiptronic, the manual will not be offered here. Audi has also hinted that the new Q5 may have a 'S Performance' variant. Fingers crossed.

JOY | 8 years ago
JOY MRC hahaha. That is true. Hyundai would be better off not re-introducing the Sonata in India again. But what do you think of the Genesis? Do you think it has got what it takes to take on the Germans?
I love the Genesis personally and if I had the money, then definitely would buy one(you now know I like being exclusive), then again has the same shortfalls of the Sonata, Above all the BADGE. People wouldn't touch a Maruti or Hyundai car for that kind of money. For example, When I first saw the business class flight like seats in the Nissan Teana. I thought this car would top the sales charts as it seems the perfect replacement for the low cost Germans. But what happened, Buyers gave more importance to the NISSAN badge and the fact that the car being used as fleet vehicle for premium hotels sealed the fate of the Teana. People moving up the chain want to have a car which can relate to their social status and sadly Hyundai isn't up there(yet). If you buy one, you would have to do a lot of explaining why you chose a Hyundai over the others.
Nikil | 8 years agoJijoMalayil unlike the second generation of the Q7 which looks radically different from the older version, this Q5 looks the same as the outgoing model. JOY | 8 years agoNikilSJ I don't think they should. The Sonata, being a petrol-only model, will find less takers at first and none at all after a while. Like it had been always. The Hyundai badge also doesn't entice buyers of that segment. Again we've seen that in the past as well. So In short, it aint got the ground clearance, it ain't got the snob value, it ain't got the mileage, it ain't got the best performance/handling = FAIL ;)
Nikil | 8 years agoCorsaVeloce is it possible that Hyundai could reintroduce the Sonata again? I ask this because Hyundai had announced that they would only be focussing on the premium segment for the next two years.
Vidit | 8 years agoSpy shots of the upcoming 2017 Hyundai Sonata have been posted on the Hyundai blog online. This car seems to be a facelift based on the current gen car. JOY | 8 years agoHyundai India seems to be readying a facelift for the Grand i10 hatchback. Testmules are spotted on the Chennai-Bangalore Highway and have surfaced on the Internet thanks to the prying eyes of enthusiasts. The hatchback was launched back in 2013 and it is due time for a ~3 year mid life facelift like with all hyundai cars. The hatchback segment is facing intense competition and with the launch of the Tiago, some drastic measures was in order. In the above image we can see a restyled Diamond cut alloy wheels and camouflaged front and rear giving us an idea that the car will come with a restyled front and rear end. Although we cant see through it, DRL's may be included since the Swift already has it. We saw DRL's being added to the Elite i20 at a later date which was earlier available only with the i20 Active. We can see a sneak peek of the restyle front grille in the picture above and it looks better and fresh than the outgoing model for sure. The Interiors of the car is also taped down. So expect a new redesigned center fascia with the inclusion of a touch screen with navigation like the i20/Active/Creta or at least just a bigger color screen stereo. The built quality of the Grand i10 was always best in the segment and we hope it would continue the same way. There may be not be any engine change and the car will continue to get the 1.1L 3 Cylinder CRDi Turbo Diesel and the 1.2L 4 Cylinder Kappa2 Petrol engine. There could be a small bump in power to the CRDi motor to aid in better city drivability and highway ride. From the pictures it seems the car is ready with official production tags on the side. We can expect the launch later this year but no official words are out as of now. Source - Motor.vikatan

Nikil | 8 years agoThe Etios should be pulled out of showrooms and sold exclusively to fleet owners. I haven't seen an Etios on the road with a private plate that is more than a year old. The Etios, as safe as it may be, still lacks the desirability factor of its rivals. I don't think a facelift is going to change its prospects one bit. But I do feel sad for Toyota's sales being hit thanks to our idiotic governments policies. If they plan on not introducing the Fortuner, Toyota would lose a lot of money as well as the loyal customer base that it has built up over the years.
Motu | 8 years ago
I wonder why Toyota is still trying so hard to revive the Etios with cosmetic updates
From what I reckon, they will continue updating the Etios till there is incentive enough to bring in a whole new car. The government policy flip-flop has hit the company hard - if not in terms of sales, it has in terms of confidence in the market (I think), and they have made it clear they are not happy with the situation. While you could call them cowards, fortune does not always favour the brave in the real world.

I would pick a Polo hatchback any day over it, or go the whole hog and pick a Vento if I wanted a boot. I don't want a Polo with a stubby boot stuck on to it. Now, what intrigues me is the pricing - they can't price it above the Polo, because there's the Vento there and it goes into a price bracket beyond the Dzire's and Amaze's of the world. They would have to price it along side the Polo, just to cater to the "sedan" buyer, a car for those who just must have a three box, boot space notwithstanding.

Nikil | 8 years agoSpied: Volkswagen's sub-4 metre sedan Ameo The Volkswagen Ameo was spotted without camouflage for the first time. The sub-4 metre sedan will be launched at the 2016 Auto Expo. Nikil | 8 years agoPraveen the Maruti Suzuki Ignis' C-pillar apparently harks back to the Suzuki Cervo, a small Japanese kei car which made its way to the UK later and came to be called as the Suzuki SC1000 and called fondly as the Suzuki Whizzkid. After taking the Mahindra KUV100 for a short spin and coming back impressed, I just can't wait for the launch of the Ignis. I think it would be a worthy competitor to the Mahindra KUV100. In Japan, the Ignis' can be had with an all-wheel drive version as well. While its unlikely that this version would be launched here, I reckon it would definitely be a hoot to drive.
Nikil | 8 years agoSpotted: Bajaj Qute (Bajaj RE) The Bajaj Qute was recently spotted testing in Trivandrum, Kerala, by indianautosblog.com reader Prashoy C L. The quadricycle, which was codenamed the Bajaj RE, was unveiled on September 25, 2015. According to moneycontrol.com, the Supreme Court has given its nod to Bajaj Auto to produce and sell the quadricycle in India. Meanwhile, the Qute has been on sale in Turkey for sometime now, says the IAB report. Bajaj Auto is currently testing the vehicle in Tier II cities and metros to gauge the performance of this little four-wheeler. The Bajaj Qute, powered by a 217cc single-cylinder water cooled DTSi engine with 4-valves, weighs in at around 400kg dry. The motor mated to a 5-speed manual transmission puts out 13.5PS @ 5,500rpm and 19.6Nm @ 4,000rpm. Top speed is limited to 70kmph. Bajaj will launch the Qute in petrol, CNG and LPG variants. Bajaj plans on exporting the Qute to 16 countries. So it will be available in both RHD and LHD variants too. Nikil | 8 years agoI like the Ignis. Sort of reminds you of the old Maruti 800s, especially the boot lid/ glass hatch.

Roshun | 8 years agoThe Suzuki Ignis is about to be launched in Japan, and the brochure has been leaked before its launch. This gives us an idea of what to expect in India as well. The car is likely to be showcased at the Auto Expo in Delhi next month. Here are a couple of images from the brochure: Here's a pic of the interiors - the AC control panel: And here are some specifications: What the brochure reveals about the Suzuki Ignis specifications is as follows: Length: 3700mm Width: 1660mm Height: 1595mm Wheelbase: 2435mm Ground Clearance: 180 mm Boot space: 258 litres (seats in place) / 415 litres (rear seats folded) Engine: 1.25 litre petrol (likely to have the 1.2 K series in India) Power: 91PS @ 6000 rpm Torque: 118 Nm @ 4,400 rpm Transmission: CVT (may be 5-speed manual for India) We are likely to only get the front-wheel drive variant of the Suzuki Ignis crossover, although in Japan it is an all-wheel drive. If there's any vehicle that can give the new Mahindra KUV100 a run, it will be the Ignis. More images of the Ignis HERE:
Ronny | 8 years agoSince design is not universal & doesn't appeal to all kind of buyers, Merc. shouldn't have gone the Audi way. Audi has made a very less difference in A4 & A6 models. Why would someone buy a expensive car which resembles its face like Junior. Not to forget it does has cues fro elder sibling but still not differentiating. Its a matter of debate whether Merc. has done a good thing or not.
I | 8 years agoIn today's digital age where camera phones are as common as they are it's hard to keep things under wrap, especially something as big as a car. This thread is to keep you up to date with the latest spottings of upcoming cars/bikes in the wild! Let's start off with the 2017 E-class, the brochure got leaked online accidentally by the portal www.Auto-presse.de and was pulled down shortly but not before a LOT of sites managed to their hands on the images. The 2017 E-class looks like the love child of the C class and the S class, I have to say it doesn't look bad but at the same time it doesn't look at unique as the BMW/Audi cars across segments ( they look different but at the same time you can see clearly see the DNA in the design philosophies of the cars respectively) The new E class will make you look twice; to check if you spotted an E class or a C class On the inside however it looks proper lux! I MEAN LOOK AT THOSE REAR SEATS!!! HUBBA HUBBA personally I'm a bigger fan of how Audi has executed the digital instrument cluster, Merc panels seem to flat/squarish from a design perspective. I dont think they have the S class ambient lighting feature ( else I'm sure they'd have been a shot of it in the press release)
