This question is because the WR-V is essentially based on the Jazz, just like the Punto Avventura is based on the Punto EVO, the Cross Polo on the Polo hatchback, the Etios Cross on the Liva, and the i20 Active on the i20. [/B] If you look at it quite closely, you will see distinct styling similarities between the Honda Jazz and the Honda WR-V, as they share most of their parts. Sure, there are differences in the dimensions too - the WR-V is 3999 mm long, has more ground clearance at 188 mm. It also has a 2555 mm wheelbase, which is longer than the Jazz. The WR-V is in fact about 57 mm taller, 40 mm wider and 44 mm longer, with a 23 mm longer wheelbase. Then there is tyre size difference - the Jazz runs on 15-inch rims with 175/65 R15 section tyres, the WR-V runs on 16-inch rims with 195/60 R16 section tyres. The styling differences up front and at the rear are obvious. However, engine choices are exactly the same - a 1.2 litre petrol engine that puts out 90PS of power and 110 Nm of torque and a 1.5 litre diesel engine that puts out 100PS of power and 200 Nm of torque, with a six-speed manual transmission. The petrol motor in the WR-V comes only with a 5-speed manual transmission, whereas the Jazz offers a option of a CVT automatic transmission with 7 presets as well. In terms of pricing, the WR-V is about Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 90,000 more expensive variant for variant compared to the Honda Jazz. Take the VX diesel for instance - the Jazz is priced at Rs. 9.18 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. For the extra money on the WR-V you get the new digipad infotainment system with navigation, you get a sunroof and of course the bigger wheels and ground clearance. Is it worth that extra cash? Yes, I think so. However, the Honda Jazz has a few tricks up its sleeve too. For instance, in the VX Honda Jazz you get "magic seats" at the rear. These seats can be folded 50:50 flat or upwards and in various permutation and combination for a flexible loading bay. With the Honda WR-V, you only get flat folding rear seats. The Jazz also offers a CVT automatic transmission with the petrol motor, which you don't get with the WR-V. Although the CVT option in the Jazz is not on the top-end variant. So which of the two cars would you pick? Is it worth paying that little extra for the WR-V or would you settle for a Jazz?
