Even though the Tiago has decent power for the car, the Tigor is partially heavier than the Tiago. A little more power would have helped. It was earlier rumored that the Tigor would be coming with the same engines but with more power, but now the power is also the same as the Tiago. I don't think Tata can pull it off, unless they give a very small price difference between the Tiago. Compact sedans were a high selling segment, but it has been losing market slowly. The Xcent, Aspire were not great sellers, exception being the Ameo and Dzire. However, the Ameo has its own engine and transmission combination which is not available on the Polo and the Dzire is a taxi favourite. I believe the Tigor is going to be the new national taxi, if priced well. The drivers would be able to put it in the sedan category, even though its a hatchback.

The company has revealed some of the features and specifications of the Tigor and, on paper, it looks like the homegrown manufacturer has a winner on their hands. The Tigor measures 3,992 mm in length, 1,677 mm in width and 1,537mm in height. The wheelbase of 2,450 mm should ensure that the Tigor comes with a spacious cabin. The ground clearance of 170 mm and a boot space of 419 litres are other highlights of the Tigor. [I]The rear is undoubtedly the showstopper, the fastback design (Tata likes to called it a [/I][I]Styleback[/I][I]) sets it apart from other compact sedans with their stubby boots. Initially, both engine will be available with the 5-speed manual transmission, but an AMT is also on the cards. [I]This diamond-cut alloy wheel design is different from the one seen on the Tiago.
