Q.Trackdays : Buddh International Circuit

[SIZE=12px][B]NASA Track Day, Jan'16[/B][/SIZE] [ATTACH=CONFIG]n2705[/ATTACH] First of the year. Yes, that's what this was in our year-long calendar of track days. I decided not to drive today and have a few laps as a passenger as I wanted to see from a second person perspective on how the track should be attacked. The line-up for the day included 5 BMW's, out of which 2 were owned by [USER="46"]Speedzilla[/USER] , another one by Kabir Sheikh along with Swastic and Manav in their Bawarian beauties. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n2706[/ATTACH] The rest of the pack was Volkswagen's; Polo's and a Jetta, a special one owned and driven by Akshay Jain. [USER="154"]Prithwi@NASA[/USER] was driving his 1.2 TSI jet, the everyday pony. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n2707[/ATTACH] [ATTACH=CONFIG]n2708[/ATTACH] The reporting time was kept to be 11 am, and being a lazy Sunday, all of us managed to get there only by 12. The process is such that it starts with registration, followed by installation of transponder in the pits and then a driver briefing that takes place in Race Control. The pit lane alarm was sounded after as the session started. and cars were released one after the other, keeping a safe distance between them of course. The thing to remember at this point is that it is NOT a race, it a fun track day where you should drive your car in ways that you are not allowed on public roads. Current pictiures are awaited.[/SIZE][/CENTER] For the first 2 laps, I was riding with [USER="46"]Speedzilla[/USER]'s enthusiastic father, who was filled with excitement and was in the 'track attack' mode. He took most of the corners with a breeze, getting the entry absolutely on the dot, with a tail stepping out just slightly due to the deactivated traction control. Everybody else on the track was also warming up their tires and brakes to bring them upto the optimum temperature for the rest of the session. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n2710[/ATTACH] [CENTER][SIZE=9px]The fastest father-son duo![/SIZE][/CENTER] The car I was looking out for was the Stage 1 Audi S4. It has a sports differential at the back, with a remapped ECU as well. The driver, Eklavya, is also quite skilled and is the right man to tame this beast of a car. The fastest time that he had posted prior to this was a respectable 2:30 mins, and he wanted to go faster and was aiming to bring it down a little more. Akshay in his Jetta was having a friendly chase with Mayank in his Stage 1 Polo GT, which helped both of them push harder every lap, exploring their car's full potential. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n2711[/ATTACH] Most of the cars that were present that day had some or the other performance mods, which were based on the driver's style and the common bit was they ran and how!! Below is the time sheet from that run. Eklavya managed a 2:27 in his beast, which is amazing! Kabir in his monster did the second fastest, also is a picture of him enjoying himself at T14. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n2712[/ATTACH] [ATTACH=CONFIG]n2713[/ATTACH] Overall, a great fun day filled with learning for everybody. Akshay managed to post a 2:41, which was his personal best. [USER="46"]Speedzilla[/USER] posted a 2:42 in his E90 330i, which is great considering it was his first time on track in this machine. [USER="154"]Prithwi@NASA[/USER] also had a good run in his red devil.
