Volkswagen at Indian Auto Show unveiled their plug-in hybrid version of their flagship sedan Passat GTE. Part of Volkswagen’s global focus on electric vehicles. The Passat GTE comes with a Petrol- Electric Hybrid power train mated a –speed DSG gearbox and has a combined power output of approximately 218 PS, while the combined torque figures stand at 400 Nm. The batteries can be charged up in less than four hours making it very practical for daily city runs. As per the Euro specs, Passat GTE claims an average fuel consumption of 62.5 km/l. Both engines put together has a combined range of 1000 kilometers. Passat GTE can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 8 seconds.
