In an interview with MoneyControl, Tata Motors Managing Director Guenter Butscheck revealed that the Nexon compact SUV will be launched ahead of Diwali this year. The compact SUV will be a very important model for Tata Motors as it competes in a hotly contested segment ruled by the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport. The Tiago hatchback has been doing really well in the market and Tata expects the Tigor, touted to be the most affordable compact sedan, and the Nexon to take the game forward. Earlier this week, the Nexon was showcased in its production avatar at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show and from the pictures, it looks like the top-end variant will be equipped with a lot of kit including projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED taillamps, ceramic side finisher, contrast roof, 17-inch alloy wheels and Tata’s ConnectNext infotainment system. A 1.5-litre four cylinder diesel variant has been confirmed for now and will likely be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The petrol variant, although not confirmed as of yet, will likely be powered by the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine from the Zest/Bolt. The model displayed at Geneva also featured a Terrain Management rotary dial which could be a hint that the manufacturer is planing to equip the top-end variant with a four-wheel drive system - something which the Vitara Brezza and the EcoSport misses lacks. Spy photos of the upcoming Tata Nexon shot around Pune has revealed that the crossover will come with a touchscreen infotainment system. In all likelihood, the system is may inly be available in the top-end trim with the floating, touchscreen Harman unit with 8 speakers. The touchscreen is bigger than the one we’ve seen in the Hexa, Bolt and Zest which feature a 6.5-inch display unit. The top-end variant will also get dual-tone paint, 16-inch alloy wheels with diamond cut finish, ceramic side and rear finisher and rear parking sensors with a camera. Image courtesy: theautomotiveindia.com The Nexon will be launched only in the second half of 2017 and will be preceded by the launch of the Hexa, Kite5 compact sedan and the Tiago AMT.

I know we have enough spy shots of the Nexon. But this one appears to adorn Tiago's Sunburst Orange shade. And doesn't it look mean and significantly wide from the rear? When are you launching it, It's been a long wait Tata Motors! Coutersy:- Autocar India Forum.
