Fiat Chrysler Automobiles had a disappointing stall at the 2016 Auto Expo. While the speculation in the media was that Fiat would unveil its brand new sedan the Tipo, all they had on display were five cars of which one is almost a decade old while the other was a concept. They also showcased the 595 Competizione and the Punto Abarth. I even expected an Abarth version of the Linea, but all Fiat could offer was a 125PS Fiat Linea powered by the 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine. The Linea 125S (sounds like a name for a bike, don’t you think?) makes its peak power at 5000rpm and peak torque stands at 210Nm@2200rpm making it one of the fastest sedans in the segment. The sedan comes with all the bells and whistles already on offer on the standard Linea and also gets ABS and EBD. The Linea 125S also features a matte black grille and matte black 10-spoke alloy wheels giving it a sleeper car look. Still, it is quite disappointing that one of my favourite manufacturer in the world didn’t even consider giving us a Linea Abarth. Next time Fiat, please don’t break our hearts like this.
