Q.Auto Expo 2016: Yamaha MT-09 launched

JOHN ABRAHAM!! Now that I've got your attention, Yamaha, with its brand ambassador John Abraham launched MT- 09 at the 2016 Auto Expo. People went crazy when John rode to the center-stage on the new bike. Even foreign models from other stalls came to Yamaha's pavilion to catch a glimpse of the actor. Digression aside, the naked roadster is powered by a 847cc liquid cooled, triple cylinder engine belting out around 116bhp of power and 87.5 Nm of torque. The minimalistic design is aimed to offer an unadulterated riding experience, although I feel the bike is too simple for its price (10.2 Lacs Ex-showroom, Delhi). The design is most concentrated at the engine portion and it then tapers off to a simple scrambler-like tail. The engine is quite frugal too, considering the claimed mileage of 19 km/l. The long travel suspension is designed to take the beatings of Indian roads. The bike will be imported by the CBU route, which explains the high price tag.
