Ahobilam Bhud it must be because more people bought the City than the Corolla then. These two cars are in two different segments. The City was cheaper to buy than the more spacious and premium Corolla. Also, most Corolla owners would still be sticking to their cars as they have proven to be reliable workhorses with low maintenance. At least that's what I think.

But I could see more Honda city (Dolphin) cars than corolla(before Altis) on Bangalore roads. Why is this if Corolla is best suggested than City?
Thanks Arjun and Joy, if I choose corolla(not altis) then availability of spares will be a problem(if i use the car until 2020)? The reason being my budget is around 2lakhs. I may not get altis withing this budget.
For 2 lakhs I believe the Honda City was the 2nd gen(Dolphin city) not the 3rd gen and Corolla as you mentioned, the one before the Altis. The Corolla is the better car of the two. Cosmetic parts like headlights, tail lights etc will need to be ordered as company may not have ready stock but mechanical and service parts are easily available for the 1.8 engine and there wont be too much of an issue at least for the next 5 years. Since the price is low, make sure the car is not having major issues or expensive overhauls to be done right after purchase. Toyota vehicles basically run forever, so there shouldn't be too much of an issue.
