Like [URL="https://www.zigwheels.com/forum/profile/12"]Arjun[/URL] said, the reason I did not add the Etios in the comparison was because it is not a sub-4 metre sedan. However, it is priced similar to the cars compared here. The only problem with this segment is that most of these cars are now fast becoming a favourite with fleet owners. The amount of DZire, Amaze, Etios and Xcent cabs in Delhi is not even funny. Soon, this will dissuade a lot of people from buying these cars.

The compact sedan segment was formed after the 4m and 1.2 petrol/1.5 diesel engine capacity cars started getting lesser excise duties. The Etios is longer than 4mts and has a bigger petrol engine, hence does not fit in this comparison. However, with the price point, it can be compared to these cars.

The petrol was mediocre, and failed to excite. With this 108 bhp motor, it will make the Ameo the most powerful in the segment. Don't you think 6.8 lakh starting price would be a bit too steep?
Nikil | 8 years agoThe diesel version of the Ameo has been caught testing by a Carwale reader. The Ameo TDI is likely to be launched later this year, probably around the festive season. The diesel version is likely to be priced around Rs 6.8 lakh ex-showroom. The diesel variant will be equipped with the updated version of the 1.5-litre TDI engine that is likely to produce 108bhp. Gearbox options are likely to be a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG. The base Trendline version will have the same features as its petrol sibling, so you can expect body-coloured bumpers, body-coloured door handles and ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, tilt and telescopic steering wheel and single-folding rear seat along with ABS and dual-front airbags.

It gets a touch screen navigation system with a rear parking camera also. The front seats are a comfortable place to be but the surprising bit is the spacious rear seats. Honda engineers have to credited for the intelligent packaging. The front seats are scooped out so it offers more space at the rear. The bench is pretty comfortable with just the right amount of recline. What the engineers have excelled again in the boot department. The Amaze offers one of the best-in-class boot with a storage space of 400-litres. The only downside is that the rear seats don’t split and fold, so you cannot expand the boot space by folding the rear seats. It even gets Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in built into the unit. Other features include a touchscreen infotainment system, rear parking sensors and dual-tone interiors. The Zest’s seats are comfortable and is spacious enough to seat five.
