Having said that, 7-8 kmpl is too less even for a car which is sparingly used. But since you bought the car last year, you should go to the service center and get the first service done already. The i20 Elite Petrol is not a very efficient car, but you should expect a minimum of 10 kmpl in the city, with the A/C.

I have purchased an i20 elite petrol version last June. It has only travelled about 3k km. The mileage i get is only about 7-8km.
