NewbieAuto you could wait for Maruti to launch the Baleno with the CVT gearbox. But like Arjun says the Jazz is a good option too. The Jazz has a large cabin and feels more airy than the Baleno. If you go for the top end you even get what Honda calls the "Magic Seats" where you can fold them in different ways to free up space inside. The CVT gearbox on the Jazz is quite good too.

The Baleno is a better option, especially with the CVT. ABS would be helpful in sudden braking and also during rains. Its not mandatory, but it would not hurt having ABS and it would be useful in case things change and you decide to take your car on the highway on a later stage. You can also consider the Honda Jazz CVT which also has premium interiors and good space utilization inside the cabin. The Honda Jazz CVT would be available with a lesser waiting period than the Baleno.

Confused between Elite i20 Magna P and Baleno Delta P. Baleno Delta here in my city has a 6 month waiting period while the Elite 120 will be delivered within a week or so. Need a car only for city drive or to be specific Office up-down and frequent visit to the malls. Should I wait for Baleno Delta AT as CVT will be easier to drive as I'm new to driving or should I go with the Elite i20? Is ABS a must for city use? Also, what other good hatchbacks can I consider which are priced lower than these two?
