Thanks Roshun I am thinking of getting a service done this weekend itself. Will get the engine mounts checked as well. What about the noise during reversing?

Excessive vibrations and rattling could point to an engine mount that has gone bad. At 69,300 km, it looks like your car is coming up for service in another 700 km at the most. Here's a point by point checklist of what all to check. 1. Engine mounts - This is usually the primary cause of rattling. The Swift has three mounts - out of which one is a thick, hydraulic one. Get the engine mounts checked. 2. Check the idling rpm of the car - if it has dropped below 850, it can lead to excessive vibrations. 3. Part of the problem could also be due to a clogged air filter and fuel filter - a service should sort it out. Also buy a bottle of System D or STP diesel fuel treatment and put it in one full tankful of diesel and see if it makes a difference. Dirty fuel injectors can also lead to erratic idling, which leads to vibrations.

Hello everyone. From the past 2-3 days I am experiencing vibrations and rattling in my Swift. Whenever the car is stationary, there are excessive vibrations in the steering, gearbox and the dash. Nothing like this was happening before. Also, I hear a strange noise from the front bottom of the car when I put the reverse gear and start reversing it with releasing the clutch. About my car: It has completed 69,300 kms. I get my service done every 10,000 kms from Maruti authorized service centre. Earlier I used to drive around 500 kms a week but now it's just 250 kms a week. Can you suggest what is wrong with my car and what can I do rectify this? Thanks in advance.
