As I said before, I would wait for a spy shot of a test mule before I believe this story - and i have very strong doubts that this will happen
I don't know if this story by Motor Octane is true or not. But what we know so far is that Hyundai is not considering launching any car below the Rs 10-lakh mark this year and instead focus on launching the new Elantra and Tucson. They might continue the same pattern next year too. But there have been no reports on what the Korean manufacturer intends to do in 2018 expect for this story.
Hyundai cars are 'premium', are you kidding me MotuSid? The only reason I can think of to bring in a new Santro is to not let Maruti Suzuki run away with the prize every year in the entry-level hatchback segment. And a little bit competition never hurt anyone did it.
Look at their cars man! They are much better than the competition in terms of interior quality, features and overall feel (IMO). And in the case of the Creta - priced at a premium. You may not think of their cars as premium, but from what I have heard from non-enthusiasts, they do consider Hyundai cars to be a higher grade than Maruti cars in the same segment. The reason why I think Hyundai is not really interested in the entry-level car market right now is because I can't seem to find any indications, in terms of leaks or test mules, to suggest that the company is working on the same. As I said before, I would wait for a spy shot of a test mule before I believe this story - and i have very strong doubts that this will happen
